That was hard watching Bozer in class. His partner shouldn't have gone that far but at least we learned something about him.
You know Jack won't stay away from Elwood. I hope he doesn't give Jack any reason not to be happy with him.
I guess they really need Samantha. Without her they wouldn't have enough people to do the job. Still, I didn't care that much about what happened to her. I was relieved they found her. She came up with a really good idea.

I was watching the episode and saw Bozer being interrogated, but I do not remember why I did not see all of it. Now I need to finish watching it.

Even though Leanna seemed sincere when she asked Bozer to stay, I do not see how their partnership will remain as strong. I am glad Bozer was not holding the gun when his brother was injured. I like the actor who is playing the gunman who told Jack he plans to kill Ellwood. He played in "The Wire" and he recently played on "Rosewood", but "Rosewood" was cancelled. I am glad he has another role to play.

I agree with your comment on Leanna.
I watched an ABC special online because I didn't bother to see what was on that night. It was about some of the popular Christmas movies. I learned Jim Carrey went through a process similar to Bozer's training for being interrogated to play The Grinch. To him, going through putting on that makeup was like what those agents go through.

2.10 War Room & Ship
12-8-17
Mac must help college students stranded on a research ship in the Arctic Ocean; Jack kidnaps Elwood to find out what he's up to; Bozer's feelings toward Leanna grow stronger.

MacGyver was very good. I was impressed with how calm and confident Mac was when he was told he needed to save 32 people without being on the ship. I really liked the young lady who followed Mac’s directions in making a fuel pump and other items. It is the Christmas season and I truly expected a miracle. I was sad when it was over.
I guess Elwood really has changed. After Jack kidnapped and beat him up, Elwood told Jack about the trouble he was in. At first, I did not believe he threw the ball in the Hudson because that seemed too stupid. Then he explained he was really wasted and wanted to get sober. They actually fooled Dougie with the altered ball! The $10,000 beating was rough, but maybe Elwood can start over now.
When Bozer and Leanna were being chased, I was not sure it was part of the training. That was done realistically. Leanna seemed to be willing to do anything to be an agent, but she agreed to jeopardize that to be with Bozer. I think that is strange.
It was a serious episode, but there was some humor in it. I laughed when Elwood voiced doubt that Jack could actually work with a think tank.
When Jack asked again who that woman is, I laughed and felt exonerated about never remembering Jill. I had so much trouble remembering her weeks ago, I printed her picture and wrote “Jill” on it. A week later, I could not recall which show she was on or who “Jill” was. I will remember now, but if I see her somewhere else, I know I will not recognize her.

It was a good episode.
MacGyver is so nice. And he did remain so calm given the circumstances. I thought they were going to have to go there, but it all worked out, except for the one person, and I'm sorry about that. It was amazing how well everything worked but it was like an episode of "Scorpion". One problem was solved only to lead to a new one.
The statement that they couldn't fly anyone there in such cold weather reminded me of a movie I saw years ago where the Earth got very cold suddenly. There was no time to save everyone, but the President of the United States was told they didn't have much time because it would be as cold as it was in the Arctic and they wouldn't be able to fly to where it was warmer.
I can't remember Jill either.
I wondered if Bozer and Leanna were going through training. I hope they can get back together but it wouldn't be a good idea.
I liked the comment about Jack not being able to work for a think tank. I twas pretty impressive how much work went into that ball.

Bullet & Pen
This was an excellent episode. Mac’s calm demeanor served him well after he was arrested for domestic terrorism. The team was getting ready to celebrate Christmas when Mac was arrested, and Matty told them Mac could not reveal what he does for a living.
Mac sat silently in the interrogation room for a long time until he was shown an image of himself leaving the warehouse. I enjoyed Jack playing the role of Mac’s attorney, and he looked handsome and professional.
My favorite scene occurred when the agents took Mac to the basement to shake him up because he looked too comfortable. The killer followed them and started shooting. He killed three FBI Agents as Mac and the officers fled to a large room. The officers were surprised and impressed when Mac easily freed himself from the cuffs and proceeded to make a weapon using bullets and a pen. When the killer entered the area, Mac dived across the room while launching the exploding pen at the killer. They were then able to subdue him. Jack and others showed up in combat gear. The agents really wanted to know who those guys really are. Mac said he works for a think tank and Jack said he sells bathroom tiles. That was outlandish.
The team was again ready to commence celebrations when my most disliked villain reared his weird looking head and tried to finish something he started earlier. They need to get rid of Murdock.

I was so disgusted by the ending, I forgot to mention the gifts. Mac received a mystery gift that was wrapped in the same paper his father used so Mac believes it is from his father.
Boss Lady gave Mac a box of paper clips and said he can return to using them to help him think.

I liked seeing Jack pretend to be a lawyer too. He looked quite professional.
I couldn't imagine how Mac was going to get out of this one. He had to go through the same thing as Bozer, but this was real. But then it turned into a murder mystery. And then Mac showed the cops what he could do and because he saved them, they pretty much had to listen. And they didn't even have to prove someone else killed that man. They actually thought Mac didn't cause the explosion!
As for the ending, I don't care about Samantha so I'm not all that concerned.

If Murdock had to shoot someone, I am glad it was no one else. It seemed to me that Samantha would bleed to death before anyone could arrive. I was disgusted because Murdock is back.

I really enjoyed Mac & Jack. I did not know how they met and I was surprised to see them fist fighting. Pre-bromance was written on the screen. I liked the flashbacks. They saved each other’s life during the war and formed an unbreakable bond. I have complete confidence in Mac’s abilities and was not concerned about him defusing the bomb. His buddy, Charlie, on the other hand, could have become collateral damage. I was glad no one got hurt. Random comments: The bomber must have been a magician to secure those huge drums under Mac’s home in a residential neighborhood without the neighbors being suspicious. There were numerous professionals on site who were trained to drive under hazardous conditions so I was surprised to see our beloved computer tech driving the truck. I was not concerned about Samantha’s survival, but her recovery made the team happy. Mac's father has left clues that are easy to miss and difficult to decode.

Another thing I liked about the Mac & Jack episode is there were several agencies at the scene, and they were not arguing over who had jurisdiction.

I liked the flashbacks too. That was more like the Jack I remember from early episodes, when I had my doubts about continuing to watch.
I wasn't worried about Samantha either, but they cared about her.
It was possible to still be talking about Christmas since in Russia and some other places Christmas hadn't happened yet.
I was surprised Mac didn't think about the speed of light sooner, but it always makes things exciting when they do things like that.
I can't imagine being able to search all of downtown, or a bomb that could damage on the scale of Hiroshima without being nuclear. But we have used MOAB in war.
Never mind all those drums. How could anyone do all that work on Mac's house?

This was a very exciting and death-defying episode for Mac and Bozer. A robotic combat machine (AI tank) shot all of the other tanks and could have injured or killed them. Then, when they chased the tank, it turned its weapon around to eliminate them. During all of that, Riley was furiously trying to use her hacking skills to get control of the tank, but that was not working.
I liked Mac using old-school skills to track the tank and, because he had given his sacred knife to a monkey, he used a credit card to cut the wires so he could hotwire a car.
Riley wrote a program and sent it to Bozer to transfer to a USB drive. Unfortunately, the USB had to be plugged into a port in the tank. MacGyver had to be a daredevil again and he jumped from a speeding car onto the homicidal tank.
Mac likes women that I do not trust to be good for him. They probably will not see much of each other anyway.
Was that a gun Mac made with the paperclip for Jack?
I like what they did for Jack near the end.
I thought it was over, but then they showed us a couple who was being led to their hotel suite. I wondered what was happening, and then we saw the monkey.

I was surprised to see Jack is so old, unless he was a genius who graduated before turning 18, which seems unlikely. Last week in the flashbacks he was saying, "Sir!" a lot. Which seems strange for him, but it would be necessary during his training. I did like seeing how he reacted to the news of how he lost the race for Homecoming King. I'm going to have trouble remembering the details of this episode because I saw the movie "Best Defense" over the weekend. It wasn't sabotage, just incompetence. And the bad guys killed the designer, and Dudley Moore, who found the design in his briefcase, had to do his best to make sure it got to the right people. Then someone else discovered the flaws but Dudley wasn't allowed to correct them. We kept wondering if Eddie Murphy was going to get blown up. It's sort of like a time travel episode. We see Dudley in 1982 and Eddie in 1984. Everything gets sacrificed on this show, even your most prized possession. I didn't want to see Mac lose his knife. I nearly missed the end, but as I was fast-forwarding to the credits, I saw an executive producer's name. Now what would that be doing in a commercial? It's a shame the Phoenix team lost its tank. I know the girl. She was cute once and appeared in Disney movies. And she was a hot cheerleader on The CW. By cheerleader I mean athlete, not pom-pom girl. She wasn't as pretty as I was hoping, but she was a nerd. actually, she was prettier once I got used to her. But Riley is a nerd and gorgeous, so it's not a requirement. That was exciting watching them track down the tank and get on board. I noticed there were other cars around before they did, but the road got quiet in a hurry when the tank slowed down. The girl should not have been surprised Mac cared. He doesn't want to let anyone die. I don't think the people speaking on the radio were in the credits. I'm amazed Maddie got them to call off their operation so fast because she couldn't do anything at first. I guess they knew she was in touch with those who could also get it done. I don't know what Jack's paper clip was, but I'm glad Jack found a new knife for Mac. Okay, thanks to being able to read what happened above, I didn't end up posting about the movie by mistake.

Darryl resembles Jack.
I noticed the cars on the road too and wondered why they had not detoured. Then, like you said, they scattered when the tank slowed down. The pilots had a clear view of the ground and observed Mac's car chasing the tank. I was hoping we would hear them comment when Mac dove onto the tank.

I recognized Mac's paperclip art as a Fleur-de-lis. It looked as if it was made from one clip but I do not think that would be possible.
As usual, I enjoyed the opening scene with Jack and Mac being thrown around in a container. It seemed like a certain way to suffer a concussion. It continues to amuse me that they end the scene with no explanation on how they escaped.
It is now midnight so I will post more tomorrow.

Jack's CIA alias from years ago was stolen and being used to get cash from ATM machines. They tracked the person down, but that was the easy part because Jack’s enemies heard he was back in New Orleans. His enemies knocked him out twice and tried to burn him alive. They almost succeeded, but Mac made a desperate move to save Jack from a horrible death. He grabbed the burning casket with his bare hands and pulled it out of the furnace. Mac’s precious hands were burned and Jack’s foot was burned.
In spite of his injury, Jack was still ready to woo the con woman who stole the identities. She seemed like the perfect match for him. They had a lovely evening, but when Jack awakened, she was gone. She robbed him, but he was happy she did not take his father’s dog tags.
They left me wondering if the agency will be angry with Matty for brokering the woman’s release because I had the impression she will skip town.
Back at Phoenix headquarters, Riley found out Bozer was using Phoenix to send encrypted messages to Leanna. She was obligated to report it to Matty, but after reading the messages, she decided to not tell. Instead, she put encryption on Bozer’s cell phone so he will be safe.

Mardi Gras Beads & Chair
Some more observations. Mac made a metal detector that helped them to locate the cash the con woman hid inside a dresser.
When Dixie and Jack were stuffed in the trunk of a car, people were standing around gawking, but they looked very calm.
First time I heard of the Bayou mafia.
Being burned alive was on Jack's bucket list and now he can scratch that one off.
Matty swoops in and takes charge anytime, anywhere, and in any situation.

I liked the music early in the episode. I'm wondering if that would be a reason to watch Pride's version of "NCIS". I once considered it because I liked him as Dr. Sam Beckett, the time traveler. I don't like it when they come that close. And of course everyone has to heal miraculously so no one will have problems in the next episode. I was surprised Jack continued a relationship with the woman. I'm pleased Riley won't tell on Bozer. This is kind of a stretch, but the prosecutor on "The Flash" used to be on "Boston Legal" with Matty. But I can't remember whether they had any scenes together. Mostly Matty and William Shatner's character, who reminds me of Donald Trump, made each other miserable. You can imagine how someone like that would treat a little person. The old black man was the cashier on "2 Broke Girls". While the restaurant owner was responsible for many short jokes, this man was the subject of jokes about being senile or high. He also didn't remember the 60s.
