Rio's warning gave Beth time to destroy the financial records. If Turner pulls the empty binder from the ceiling space, it would not be actual evidence.
Although Annie now suspects Noah, the damage has been done.
I guess they are going to ignore what happens when you throw away Rio's drugs?
Children: I like Sadie's attitude much better than Sara's.

I want to know where Beth put the financial records. It appeared they went in the toilet, but there's no way. I worried the FBI agent would figure out a way to get what went down the toilet, although it didn't look like it was stopped up.
I felt so bad for Beth when she did so much work and felt so much pride and then was the victim of the same type of criticism she had made earlier. And no, penauts and walnuts are not in "the nut family". Peanuts are not nuts.
Was that real food? It was a shame to throw it away. I figure the cast and crew get to eat all that good stuff.
I was pleased Stan and Ruby's daughter had a better attitude late in the episode but she was so mean to her father. And I also liked how good she was at the nursing home.
I just realized. When I was a child I went to church with a Stan Rube. Pronounced Ruby.
But Ruby's actions meant no more money. How will she pay? I didn't even consider consequences for getting rid of the drugs other than not getting paid. I was relieved when they didn't get caught at the border.
Sadie and Annie were good together, once again.
Annie's hair color does not occur in nature. Whatever she's doing costs money.

So Beth's financial records were not completely gone.
Now we know the consequences of not delivering the drugs like they were supposed to.
Ruby said Costco but the store was Cloud 9.
Annie now knows her boyfriend was talking to the FBI. I didn't see any proof he WAS FBI. We know it but I couldn't see that Annie didn't have any way of finding it out.
Dean wants the divorce to be as uncomplicated as possible.
I couldn't understand why Beth kept running water in the sink until I found out there were multiple body parts.
Oh, good. The body is in the store. I never heard of storing deer for hunters in an actual grocery store. And I'd really rather not see what the meat looks like before it is packaged. So now all they have to do is … those were pretty flowers. I guess it wasn't deep enough.
I would be happier if we could laugh more. At least we had Beth pretending to be locked out and not wearing much. But he caught her in the apartment. He wasn't as mad as I expected. But he's going to expect things from her.
I was pleased Stan is getting along better with his daughter.
The lawyer gave me a lot of confidence but I knew there would be a catch. Oh, well, they've done it before. And he knows something is up. I'm surprised all it took was just paying him three times as much.
And how does one laundromat have that many quarters? I did feel bad for all those people in line. You'd think she could just let them go ahead and then go back to it.
Just one more episode so it could get exciting. It could actually be all over.

I think Annie should have absolutely forbidden her daughter to have any unsupervised personal contact with Noah or any other new boyfriend. Noah sending personal messages to Sadie without Annie's permission was inappropriate. I hope Annie can fool Noah so that he does not realize she suspects him.
I think Rio really likes Beth and enjoys their clandestine relationship. He did not threaten her even though she broke into his apartment. I wonder if he is really concerned about the money. It seems he did that to keep a hold on Beth. I noticed there were photos of Rio with his son, but I did not see the mother in the pictures.
Beth surprised me in the way she became honest with Dean regarding Rio. That was extremely bold, but he took it well.
Agent Turner is gunning for Beth rather than Ruby and Annie. Beth did respond to him in a challenging manner and he disliked her for that.
Did they bury the wrong body?

So it was the wrong body! I never would have expected that ending.
I enjoyed seeing the real story about the body.
I knew paying the lawyer with counterfeit money would be a problem. Now they're back where they started.
Imagine the FBI agent showing up at church!
I like the solution Beth and Dean came up with. It was nice how they told the kids. The same custody arrangement Dean wants was the plot of "Splitting Up Together", which was cancelled but ended with them back together. Thanks to Trump, I watched most of the season in reverse when things had started to improve, but the couple hated each other. "The Real O'Neals" had a similar arrangement except the husband stayed outside.
I wish Dean had tried harder to keep his job. The dealer had rules and he was expected to follow them. Selling cars out of a vending machine is a real thing, by the way.
I guess Noah won't be spending time with Sadie any more. Now Noah knows that Annie knows.

A great way to end it but I'm hoping for more. I haven't heard whether another season is planned.
Beth is so dedicated to cooking and gardening.
I agree about Beth's hair.
I'm so glad the FBI agent was there for the solution to Beth's problem. At least there is a witness.
I didn't imagine the solution to Beth's other problem would be so simple. But surely it isn't. The murder isn't even something the FBI should be investigating! If there was a reason to get the FBI involved I've already forgotten. I thought Beth was definitely going up the river, and then THAT happened and all of a sudden the agents look like morons? Too simple.
I'm still not clear on what happened at the end. Counterfeiting is still illegal. Even if you print your own. I also don't understand what happened to the bill that Beth showed them. Or why that's important.

The finale was excellent. It was exciting because I could not guess what would happen next or what the solution would be.
Boomer - I was surprised his grandma would let him hide in her house after she learned he had been stealing from her. Plus, he showed her no respect and kept ordering her to get stuff for him. I was glad he was talked into turning himself over to police.
I believe the FBI was involved because they already had Rio under surveillance for drug trafficking. They were trying to catch Rio in the act, but Beth got in the way and was arrogant when Turner questioned her. Turner then focused on Beth and he was tenacious. I enjoyed seeing Turner's expression when Boomer showed up at the station. Rio is outlandish. Was it really necessary to scare Beth by kidnapping her? Rio made a good point that Turner would not just walk away, but that was not the first time Rio tried to get Beth to pull the trigger. I did not expect her to shoot anyone so that scene was a shock to me. Since Turner and Noah were taken off the case, I cannot imagine what plans Turner has for both Rio and Beth. I hope we get another season to find out.
Does Annie think there is a future for her with Noah? He is a very smart man and he comes across as sincere and likable. But he seemed sincere the entire time he was lying to Annie.
They need to burn the body somewhere in the woods.
Turner and Noah are aware that Beth's crew was moving counterfeit money, but I do not think Beth knows that. She was showing Ruby and Annie how they could easily make their own counterfeit money without Rio's help. The $20 bill would not raise suspicion the way $100 bills do.

Retta is a daughter of Liberian immigrants who used the nickname her boyfriend gave her when she started doing standup comedy because she didn't want to explain her name. www.npr.org/podcasts/344098539/wait-wait-don-t-tell-me Click on August 24 and start at 32:00. Actually, I checked to see if I posted here and it looks like I did. Anyway, they did a "best of" episode and repeated it.

This is encouraging. They wouldn't have done this if the show was cancelled. Retta, Annie's husband and Mae Whitman were asked what they did for Thanksgiving. They were among the stars of NBC shows who answered the question during breaks in the Macy's Parade. Mae said she sits on the sofa to watch the parade. And football. And she won't get up to eat so someone has to being her food.

Connections with other shows: Annie's mom from "Parenthood" is on "Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist", this show's lead-in. Stan's partner on "Mike and Molly", where they were both cops, is Bob on "Bob Hearts Abishola".
I was surprised Rio wasn't dead but hoped he wouldn't cause any more trouble. But what happened at that storage unit was terrible. I live three houses from a storage facility but I don't think anything bad has ever happened there. Movies and TV make it look like those places are worse than they are.
Beth needs to keep her secret, that's for sure.
The stripper was adorable but I really didn't need to hear her explanation of how to take a pill. Or maybe Ruby was remembering something she had been told. I'm amazed that made it onto network TV.
I can't remember. Is Annie's daughter transitioning into a son? The child had such an attitude but that's normal at that age.
I'm surprised Beth was willing to paint that bedroom. They don't have enough money to pay the mortgage. My bedroom would have been purple when I was eight years old but it was repainted before we moved into the house.
I can't imagine why anyone would go to so much trouble to create fake money unless they intended it to be counterfeit, which they're not admitting to that woman. The woman Beth got to do the art has to be wondering that as well. If she's smart enough to get a master's degree, how long will it take her to realize that's counterfeit money? And why were they throwing money in the fireplace? Was that the bad money, or was it money that passed the test? Why would they burn money that passed the test?

I watched half of it and they were able to correct the counterfeit bills.
It sounded like Rio snitched on a lot of people and now has immunity. I liked him being a bad guy because he was exciting, but I wonder what he will be like now.
I turned the episode off because I was very annoyed with Beth for interacting with Rio's child.

Last week pre-existing conditions were a problem. I thought Obamacare did away with that. Ruby was so nice to the person when she found out what happened to her.
And now Rio is back. Will he be trouble?
One of the major advice columnists, the ones whose name start with A, got a letter about Ben's problem. In that situation, the person just refused to use the new name. I thought surely Ben was going to have a problem using the restroom.
Oh, good, Annie has romantic problems. I enjoyed her visit with the wrong therapist. A newspaper columnist I read refuses to believe children can be treated by therapists. And he was one.
I liked how Beth handled the man with the tattoos who tried to steal from her.
Beth's husband is getting good at his job but there's another possible romance.
All those things they're doing for money could have been done before.
Beth has mother-in-law problems. And I find myself siding with the older woman, but that's wrong.

I think he has. I'm having a hard time remembering details this long after seeing it.
Also, I forgot when I posted that I hadn't seen the entire episode.
Annie was funny working at a convenience store. Normally it is the person from South Asia who tells people about his rotating hot dogs (on "The Simpsons"), but Annie told a man from South Asia he shouldn't have high expectations for those hot dogs.

This show hits me with some unexpected scenes that shock me. I thought Rio was taking a flight and I was baffled by his smug expression. Then it all became clear that he eliminated the real problem. But is Turner really gone?
Ben gave Annie a surprising amount of tough love when he described her as having the characteristics of a llama. Ouch!
Beth received financial aid from Rio’s ex. I did not expect her to cash the check because she “knew” Rio would not be sending more money. But the ladies are desperate. I had to laugh when Dean told Beth to not use the term “friend”. She finally told Dean that Rio is dead and he worried that Rio would be resurrected as a zombie with tats.
Back to the episode.

Dean's mother was either a terribly intrusive mother-in-law or she was annoying Beth so Beth would quit her job and be a stay-at-home mom again. Beth has a strong will and I knew she would not tolerate much interference. I enjoy it when Beth takes charge and finds a solution to their money problems even though it is dangerous. Beth looked like the perfect demure host when she offered lemonade to the movers. I was disappointed the criminal reneged on their deal, but I was happy Beth challenged him. When she saw him in the yard, I thought Rio had returned, but the criminal was there to honor their agreement. I thought Beth might have taken a gun outside, but there were no issues.
Does Ruby think Stan will agree to her criminal activities? If he says "no", will she continue anyway? I hope she made a decision before she approached him.
Gregg and Nancy blindsided Annie with the most awkward conversation I have seen in front of a child. I wonder if they are intelligent. Annie is so weird she is meeting with the child therapist. How long will it take for her to try to have sex with him.
Beth should have avoided Rio's family.
Very entertaining episodes.

Are you being difficult? You just watched the episodes. There have been only two episodes this season. Eta: Never mind; I have watched both episodes. I couldn't be sure I had seen him with Beth. I thought I had seen them together but I wasn't sure I was remembering it right. Now, obviously he has. I saw two names in the opening credits last week but forgot to watch for them. When I saw them again I made sure to pay attention. The man doing the dirty work for the girls is Earl's idiot brother from "My Name is Earl". That was a critically acclaimed show and I think he was praised for his performance. The stripper where Stan works was one of Charlie Sheen's "Anger Management" therapy group members. On the subject of therapists, shouldn't Annie's therapist keep information confidential? I didn't understand that cereal name, but once I saw it I knew what it was. I was thoroughly confused by Beth's pregnancy tests. Did she desperately want to prove she wasn't pregnant? She was obviously spending a lot of time with Dean, not knowing it might have been because he was attracted to his boss. And now being faithful has cost him financial opportunities. Now I get it. I thought she was pregnant (which she couldn't afford to be) but the OB/GYN made it clear she lied, and now I understand Rio won't kill her if she's pregnant and thinks it's his. Obviously this OB/GYN knew him, so she must have been his son's OB/GYN. And the son's mother isn't happy with Beth right now. I don't blame her. I did like the way Ruby and Stan kept saying "eggroll". So the stripper is trying to claim to be some kind of surgical assistant. I think doctor would have been quite a stretch. But other duties require less training.

Rio appears to be a very dangerous thug, but I have not seen him actually kill anyone. He likes to delegate the dirty work. I doubt that he personally killed the FBI agents. When he gave Turner the paper with another name that "turned up", I think that is when Rio set Turner up to be murdered. Also, Rio promised Elizabeth he would go easy on her by personally killing her, which indicated he does not usually do the killing.
Stan is a tolerant husband. He sees things as right or wrong, but he has to do things he disapproves of to keep his family safe. I felt sorry for him when he had to ask a favor of someone who barely speaks to him.
Yes, that therapist should keep information confidential. Maybe he would if there were parents waiting. Annie just barged into the therapist's office which made me wonder why there were no adults around. As long as Annie does over-the-top ridiculous things like that, I am not able to like her.
Dean has some good qualities, but I am not able to feel sorry for him. He did not handle things well with his boss when he described the many women he had been with. That did not make her feel special; actually, what he said was very insulting.

I like Annie better for doing what is over-the-top.

I like Annie better for doing what is over-the-top. I interpreted Dean’s comment the same way you did. That was not something a man should say to a woman who has expressed interest in him. “I like you, but I cannot be with you at this time.” would not have been offensive. As for Annie, I am very aware you and I do not share the same sense of humor.

I got confused last night. I actually thought Rio had hired the man who was working for Beth to watch Beth. Then Rio said he didn't know him and I realized his man was the other man with the beard.
Beth actually confessed she wasn't pregnant but when she showed Rio her operation, she became valuable enough to keep alive. Now we know how it works.
Annie and her therapist may have gone a little too far, but he seems to have stopped it.
I was relieved dean couldn't get what he wanted, and although he isn't as safe as he would like, the kids can't accidentally use the gun.
I heard somewhere firefighters must stop what they are doing if there is a call, even if they are in the bathroom. I'm concerned about what they would do in a very specific situation. I don't think it was such a big emergency Beth's son would have to find out what happens.
I was really hoping Stan and Ruby's daughter was actually innocent. I guess Stan had the right to go through her stuff. And yet the parents can't claim that she shouldn't do what she did when they're doing the same thing or even worse.
No one needs to go bad enough to go in there. I didn't wonder at first why a valuable jersey would be in such a place rather than in the main room (now we know). I did know Gordie Howe was a hockey player.
