No new episode, but when I would have watched it, I watched "To Tell the Truth" instead. One of the panelists looked familiar. When I looked her up, it turned out she was the Secret Service agent who has it in for Beth. Also she was Denise on "Big Bang Theory". I don't remember who that is.

We're inching ever closer to the solution. The episode ended with Dean walking out of prison. Eric tried to rob a sports memorabilia store but he was shown crying so I don't know what that means. He visited Dean in prison and was wearing a uniform. I thought he was in prison but he said he was working for someone whose real name may have been Richard.
Ruby showed up at Stan's workplace. At first we didn't know she was there but she called him and he said he was fine eating his lunch without "special sauce" which she brought him. Stan's co-worker like the special sauce, or the meat loaf. I forget which. He won't tell her what he's doing but she suspects him of having affairs with the strippers. The truth is he's still intimidating people into paying his boss.
Rio made Beth take off her clothes and then left. Later, he sent her to collect from people who depended on him for "protection". Once she said she was the banker, most paid up. Except for the woman whose mother was on dialysis. Beth had a gun and I thought she was going to use it, but she gave it to the woman. Rio noticed the discrepancy and he wasn't happy.
This was made more complicated when Dakota, the baby of Annie's ex, needed a baby sitter when the baby's mother had a meeting. No one else was available. Annie said she would do it. Annie couldn't handle it and showed up where Beth and Ruby were. Then the man with all the tattoos showed up, and he knew everything there was to know about getting the baby to calm down. And putting the baby in its car seat for Beth's visit to all the places she had to collect from. With all that, the mom saw Annie had messed up and blamed herself for letting a baby take care of a baby.
I forgot to mention the man with the tattoos was naked in an earlier episode when Beth saw him.
At the end, Rio said he had someone to report to. This meant the Secret Service had someone to go after. Beth smiled and turned to the girl who was on "To Tell the Truth" and her partner, who earlier in the episode when testing his equipment was saying things like "red letter yellow letter" and other nonsense. Rio removed the tracker so they had to give up.
Today is Retta's 51st birthday.

Not as positive an episode as I would have hoped for.
When Beth was able to talk to Rio's "boss", it was his grandmother. And it took a lot of effort to get the Secret Service to go through with letting Beth continue. When the Girls complained about their financial situation the male agent said it wasn't their problem. So the Girls robbed a jewelry store where the security guard was Annie's former co-worker. I only knew who he was because of the "previously". Knowing that the Girls were going to do things like that, the Secret Service gave in and paid the Girls. Beth wore a wire but all the female agent heard was Beth doing it with Rio in his grandmother's bedroom. The look on the female agent's face! The male agent asked what was going on.
Dean wanted so much to go out and ride his bike. His ankle bracelet won't let him go far, after he worked so hard to fix it up.
Annie is trying to get her GED but wouldn't tell Ben. She tried to bribe the teacher to pass her but he wouldn't take it. Besides, that money was probably counterfeit. And her therapist showed up drunk just before the wedding. His "stag" didn't go well. He can't do you-know-what at her place so he did it at Annie's, and told Annie ... well, I'll quote Jim Carrey. "Do NOT go in there!" He also said his bride never does it. Somehow what she eats makes it unnecessary. Annie had to go in there to get wi-fi so she could see if she passed her GED. Ben came home and saw the therapist and drew his own conclusion. Annie assured him that was wrong. They went in the bathroom despite what had just happened and they got the results. Ben said, "Oh, no. ... now we both have to pay for college." Annie wasn't happy with that pause.
Ruby and Stan continue to have financial problems. Reminds me of Deja's mom in the "This Is Us" episode I just watched. Ruby convinced Stan to prove how valuable he was. Stan brought him a purse which looked like an expensive one but was a knockoff. The episode ended with tha partment full of fake puses that look expensive, which they will now have to sell.

Beth is 46 today.
Carolyn is the name of the female Secret Service agent. And the funniest thing about the episode was the Girls trying to teach her to be a mom.
They met with Rio at a restaurant but Rio was late and the waitress said they couldn't sit there if their entire party wasn't there, because another group wanted the table. The Girls insisted on staying because (they couldn't admit this) the condiments were set up to record Rio at THAT table. Rio showed up but after meeting Carolyn he wanted to go to her house. All we knew was Carolyn was texting and she kept acting like she knew where "her" house was. And it was a really nice house. But Carolyn claimed to have lost her key, and while her husband was home, he was sick. Rio knocked. An angry husband (the male Secret Service agent, actually) came to the door and they went inside and did whatever needed to be done. Carolyn was to accept a duffel bag regardless of what was in it and put the contents in a safe deposit box. Beth can't do this because of Dean and the other Girls have their own reasons. The male Secret Service agent thanked an elderly couple for helping them and said it was safe to come out of hiding.
And after all this Rio talks to Beth alone and asks if Carolyn is FBI or Secret Service. And the Secret Service agents arrive at the bank and discover jewelry rather than whatever Rio was supposed to give them that would be evidence.
Annie's ex wants to take Ben out of school, claiming he doesn't want Ben to be what Ben doesn't have. The truth is Ben had his nails done by his stepmom and Annie was so excited when she heard this. They're having financial troubles! Ben later confessed to being broke because his wife tried too hard to expand the business but said all the parents and the other kids were what Ben doesn't have. You can say this word on TV unless it is what Ben doesn't have.
Stan also had to claim he had a house that wasn't his. It's a house that is rented and no one was there at the time. He claimed to have just moved and sold expensive looking purses that weren't really the name brands to rich women. One woman was shocked by the deer heads because Ruby joined an animal rescue group. Stan said the first one was hit by a truck. Discovering there were others, he said the whole family was hit by one truck. And Stan didn't make enough money to get his boss off his back, so Ruby has to get help from the Girls. Stan's boss wants to make him a partner in the business but Stan doesn't want this.
Dean bought a hot tub. The advantage is that "they" can't hear if he and Beth are in it.

It's hard to say whether any progress has been made.
Carolyn looks so much like Gina on "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" and the look on her face as she and the male agent interrogated Stan's boss. And to think they were about to pack up and go home.
Wait, I need to back up. There was no way to arrest anyone. Stan spent time talking with the strippers about protesting their treatment by not taking off their clothes.
Then somehow the Girls figured out how to get rid of Stan's boss. It had something to do with counterfeit money, and they needed more of it. They showed up dressed for an awards show or something and passed the bills, and got change. I have no idea why this worked but Stan's boss was arrested and questioned but he did not give up Rio.
And on the subject of Rio, we had flashbacks of him and his cousin (brother) being raised by their grandmother. One of them was a caddy and helped a golfer cheat, then stole. He called the other who was fighting at the gym. I finally realized when he mentioned the gym later that it was Rio. The cousin/brother gave up Rio to the cops and he did time.
Later, Beth visited the cousin/brother, who had gone straight and was helping beautify the city. Somehow when Beth delivered "stationery" and "invitations" to Rio that was enough for the Secret Service to take him in.
The cops were holding Rio and the Secret Service needed to question him, explaining they were over the heads of anyone who might have said they couldn't. Obviously, someone was over their heads. Rio got into his cousin/brother's car and it was suggested the cousin/brother has some influence. Beth was startled to find Rio in her house once again.
There was also a scene with Beth in the hot tub. Dean was talking with his new friends. Earlier, when they were on bicycles and stopped, he had bragged about how well he handled prison. Now he's in some Ponzi scheme. One of their kids had a broken toy and that, in addition to giving the episode its title, gave beth an idea for how to get rid of Rio.

Last night was the finale. New episodes are back late in June.
And just when we thought things couldn't get any wilder, they did.
Rio's brother/cousin had a talk with the cop who could make sure Rio gets out of trouble, but it seems like there is a limit. Rio did kill someone and the brother/cousin won't let him get away with that. He did have his goon hold Rio in the boxing ring while he beat up Rio. But I'm not clear why a goon showed up at the cop's house. And we got to know the cop's little girl who is getting some sort of big reward from the brother/cousin.
The Girls have to steal the evidence and Carolyn is about to go back to Washington. So Beth manages to get in her hotel room and become very friendly. Carolyn is in the bathroom and she comments on how she was always the narc, telling on the girl who was smoking, whole Beth was prom queen (no, Beth says), homecoming queen (no, Beth says) and cheer squad. Okay, we know she was one of them. But she got in trouble. While Carolyn was in the bathroom Beth got the box to the window. The other Girls were down below and this was the perfect scene for advertising the show. PLOP!
Annie is desperate to keep Ben in school. The financial aid person is unwilling to help because of Annie's drug violation. We got a scene in the "previously". The woman asks if there's anyone Annie gets naked with.
Annie is so desperate she goes to the man who lives in his car. He has a key attached to the tire. The man agrees and ben gets to stay at his school. He didn't mind going back to the old school except back then he wasn't Ben and that could cause problems. He was also willing to quit lacrosse. On another site, I saw that a school no longer had lacrosse and was therefore ex-lax. A school without lacrosse is "too lax to start". The man moves in with Annie after his car burns.
Stan and Ruby are still selling the purses. Stan is very angry at Beth for being so selfish and getting his wife shot. Still, there are fourth graders with moms and a good chance the third grade moms won't tell the fourth grade moms any bad news. There are two opportunities. Stan's girls can't work now that their boss is in jail, unless they do private parties. When Beth tried to sell the purses at the one event the girls performed at (when they wouldn't, the girls were told put their clothes on), one man showed he was a cop. Now they're in trouble. In the other, one of Beth's girls was in Ladybugs with the cop's daughter. This is an opportunity for Beth to blackmail the cop. Beth claims there is video of the event.
Dean wants out of the pyramid scheme. Sure. He can do that. He just has to pay for what he bought already. No, those are the samples. He's obligated to sell or pay for a garage full of stuff.

Back Thursday, and I'm in the middle of Retta's "To Tell the Truth" episode. I called Spectrum and the man refused to help because I had a Time warner package. He was doing a bunch of stuff and I thought it would help, but he said now I can have 175 channels. Now wait a minute. I'm not paying more. In fact, I want to pay less. He couldn't help me with that, and he said he couldn't fix the problem as long as I didn't upgrade to a Spectrum package. So ABC is still not working on cable. In order to not sit in my computer chair to watch an ABC show, I have to transfer it to my usual DVR in order to watch, which cannot happen until the show has finished airing.
Retta has a prettier wig than she does as Ruby.

And they're back. What a pair of episodes. This show is still funny.
I probably won't be able to figure out which events happened when.
Anyway, Annie is having quite the adventure. The homeless man is a talented cook who works at restaurants from time to time. He was welcomed by the hostess and went right to his usual table. But first things first. Annie thought the meal was delicious and wondered how the man came up with all the ingredients. Annie was disgusted when he admitted that he took perfectly good food from dumpsters. And yes, the food at the restaurant was perfectly good food from their dumpster. That's what I meant by "table". And Annie can't throw him out. Ben likes him and the man threatened to tell Ben's school the truth. Which means Ben can't stay in school.
Beth was fired. The woman who replaced Mrs. Garrett on "Diff'rent Strokes" when she got the spinoff "Facts of Life" wanted someone dependable. How will they print the money if Beth can't work at the card store? Easy. They steal the printing press. The men refused to help when they realized what was going on. The Girls confessed but asked the men to please help anyway. No, the problem is it won't fit through the door. Dean knows how to take stuff apart and he is able to do it and put the printing press back together.
The Girls have to print their money in Stan's club. This is temporary as Stan will lose the club once the city auctions it off. Stan can still get jobs for the girls and they know border guards, which comes in handy when Rio has them making Loonies. Actually, Loonies are coins but I think the Girls referred to the bills that way. The first time the Girls tried to exchange their cash, Stan had tipped off one of his former co-workers. But they didn't get caught. Just pulled over. At the border, though, they almost had to show what they were carrying, even with the knowledge that the strippers were friends of theirs. It turned out the strippers had the money and didn't get searched, but they blackmailed the Girls when the time came to give the money back. The spoiled rich girl from Charlie Sheen's TV series has most of the lines and she just laughed when told they were supposed to be helping "as a favor". The strippers get part of the proceeds. Or would have. After a silver SUV started following the Girls, they went in a casino. The start of episode two was Annie winning at craps. She was upset because the idea was to lose. Asked why they couldn't just cash in, one of the Girls reminded them they'd have to sign a document and once it was discovered where the money came from, they'd be in trouble. Finally, Beth said the title of the episode. "Put it all on 2." They lost everything. Then Rio said the people in the silver SUV were his people and the Girls weren't in trouble. Well, not in trouble for having the money. I'm not sure what they will do now that they've lost all the money.
Beth may be in trouble. Dean confessed to the men in the group he is working for what he had done. They raised their arms like swords in a military ceremony and he walked through. One man said he was a lawyer and could get Dean out of trouble. He will have to prove Beth did everything. Meanwhile, Beth still thinks the answer is to leave town. The son was in a sports event Dean had to miss because of his ankle bracelet. Dean tried to claim the kids need their mother but when the boy got hurt, Beth was nowhere to be found, but it didn't matter. The boy didn't even ask for her.

This show just keeps getting more bizarre.
I forgot until I saw the "previously" that Beth went to Rio's brother/cousin for help, and he put her to work in exchange for whatever he could do. I don't know what that is, because he and Rio played basketball but didn't do anything else.
Rio showed up at Annie's place and said she was coming with him. Take a coat. It will be cold. He put her in a freezer at a store. When she got out, she asked the clerk for help but Rio's goon was a friend of his. The goon went to a man's house and beat him up. After they slept in the car, they went to a nursing home where the goon visited a man who was like a grandfather to him. The cops showed up and the man who the goon beat up was there, and he recognized Annie. Asked if she saw anything, Annie made some disgusting but funny comments about sex. For this, the goon eventually let her go. She had tried claiming she was critical to the Girls' effort, but he wasn't convinced. The Girls missed having her nonsensical comments from the back of the car. Beth was terrified at what might be happening to Annie. She found out Annie was missing when ben showed up, and she let Ben stay with her.
When they went to print more money because Rio expected to be repaid after they lost everything at the casino, Stan's club was locked. Stan had enough money to get it back. They had to bid against others as several buildings were being auctioned off to collect the taxes. One of Ruby's customers recognized her and Beth complimented her bag. She bid against the Girls. When her bid was higher than the amount of cash Stan had provided, that was it. But in the "previously" we were reminded the inspector was bribed to let Dean's store open. The same inspector showed up at the club and found a bunch of problems and the woman had to accept the Girls' offer. Also, Ruby confessed her bag was fake.
Beth and Dean's kids had the strangest looks on their faces as they heard what Beth was going to do. Then the parents claimed to be just kidding.
Dean is still trying to get the lawyer to get him off. He tried selling Stan some of his product but Stan wasn't interested. Though by the end of the episode Stan was in the hot tub with the group. Beth is not going to get out of this.

The Secret Service agents are back, and I don't think we know yet what they did. All we know is the female agent went to visit the male agent who got in an argument with his wife about purple flowers. So now he has joined her.
All seemed fine for the Girls to reopen the strip club. Until the neighbors complained. But businesses have been negatively affected since the place closed. I think the leader of the opposition was the one Ruby told the bags were fake. Which meant Stan had to throw them all out and the Girls have no source of income.
And of course Rio knows and insists on participating financially. I don't know what will be left for the strippers. Some of them were shown working respectable jobs but they were persuaded to come back by being treated better. It looked like they would share in the profits.
Rio's brother/cousin is helping as much as he can but he might be in trouble. The Secret Service showed up at the strip club and that's all we know.
And Beth is running for city council. There's still talk of escaping to Nevada but I don't know if that will go anywhere.
Annie's lock needed fixing and her roommate set off the "alarm". He's with Angela now but Annie brought that disgusting bucket and described just how disgusting it was, so apparently he's not with Angela. On a more positive note, the roommate fixed the lock. Annie doesn't want to stay with Beth because of all the kids.
Dean is still going after Beth. But he wanted the lawyer to not try quite so hard. Stan didn't want anything to happen to Ruby, but he'll have to join the pyramid scheme.

Next week is the two-hour finale and I can't say I'm happy.
So now we know what the Secret Service wants. They want Beth to get dirt on Rio's brother/cousin. Also, something the Girls need is in Washington and while the Secret Service CAN get it, the female agent has been suspended and is claiming to be on vacation, so she can't get in any more trouble. The female agent was really annoyed with Beth just showing up and knocking even though the sign said "Do not disturb".
To get anything Beth will have to win the city council election. Problem. The woman who opposed the strip club is running against her calling herself anti-crime, pro-family.
So the strippers perform in patriotic costumes and talk about their morals, and the men are impressed. They contribute, but as usual, Rio wants his share.
It's not enough. Beth has to go to the woman's house with Rio's goon and attack her. If breaking stuff wasn't enough, the goon says he is a fan of ice skating and will be at every event the woman's daughter participates in. That does make her cry and keeps the woman from using information about Dean. I think Beth went too far by doing that.
One of the kids is misbehaving. Beth has to go to the principal herself because Dean isn't allowed outside his range. Dean can't get the men helping him to do anything. Stan is standing in the way. Also, the D.A. who was supposedly helping is shown in a video working at Starbucks.
For some odd reason, Rio has decided the Bolands get their furniture back. There's something else Rio won't let them have.
Annie is having her own problems. Her roommate was apparently with his girlfriend in their apartment. Actually, Ben said his father was out of town when Annie wanted his father to contribute his signature to those required so Beth can be a candidate. And his wife has given up on life. Annie went over to her house and demanded she do something, and asked who was taking care of the baby if she couldn't even get out of bed. She was the one whose hair Annie's roommate was doing.

I didn't like the way it ended.
In fact, I'm not entirely sure what happened.
The Secret Service want Beth to win her election so they can get dirt on brother/cousin. There is a better way, and the Girls are still thinking about going to Nevada.
There is one scene where the Secret Service agents say they can't do whatever needs to be done because officially, they're on vacation, and the female is currently suspended.
Annie's roommate is looking at dating web sites and he is telling her how he tries to be exactly what the women want. Meanwhile, it's uncertain whether he and Annie are more than just roommates.
First try: Break into brother/cousin's office. Annie pleads with the security guard to let her inside to use the restroom. He agrees. Beth climbs in the window of the restroom. Beth is wondering why Annie took so long. She really did have to go. Picking the lock is easy, as Sherlock Holmes has taught us on another network. Then there is another lock that can only be opened by a key card.
Back to square one. Annie uses the dating site and manages to be exactly what brother/cousin's assistant wants. Well, not exactly. We can all tell he's gay but he needs to be able to convince his father he's not. A selfie with Annie will help. Meanwhile, the date is hilarious. Annie should get her own series. When Annie is cold, he lends her his jacket, which has ... the key card! Once again, Annie has to go. The security guard tells her she really should see a doctor. We're in! Beth takes photos of incriminating documents and forgets to put the file key back where she found it, so brother/cousin will know something's up the next day. If that's not enough, when they get back outside, the man who is helping Dean put Beth away shows up. Annie's date wonders what took so long. Oh, and if that's not enough, Annie's roommate shows up. The date tells him to go away but Annie admits who he is and says he's not really homeless.
And more about the man helping Dean: It turns out he is helping Dean to get to Beth so Beth can sell his products to the city. If she is elected. Dean gets him to back off, and it seems he had an incentive to do so if he needs Beth working for the city. We meet his wife and spoiled brat son. He finally stands up to the son who refuses to quit playing his video games.
Later in the episode Annie and her roommate have a disagreement and he moves out, but Annie goes searching for him in a homeless camp. A woman who criticizes Annie for not ringing the bell says he doesn't want to talk to her. She persuades him to come back.
Brother/cousin, having discovered someone used his file key, asks for a list of who came in the building. Surprise! Annie is on the list. Now Beth is in trouble. Brother/cousin hands her all the documents she needs. Why would he do that?
The Secret Service have enough dirt on brother/cousin that Rio visits him in jail but says without Rio's help, they can't do anything.
The men in charge of the pyramid scheme introduce hair care products. Dean and Stan settle their differences. After all, they've been friends a long time. Stan was just trying to protect Ruby.
Beth wins the election. The waitress throws the group out of the restaurant when Rio doesn't show.
Beth has to give an acceptance speech.
The Girls have enough money to escape to Nevada. I'm not sure how.
Stan makes Ruby choose. Him or the other Girls. I'm not sure how that turned out.
Annie and her roommate buy an RV. And then the unthinkable happens.
The next scene looks like a dream. Maybe it is. Everyone is in Nevada. Beth and Dean are in the perfect house in the perfect neighborhood, if you don't mind desert.
Stan and Ruby are perky nail salon owners in matching outfits and the daughter who had the kidney transplant is SOOOO embarrassed by their behavior. The son is in boarding school and not shown.
Annie and her roommate are having problems with their neighbor in the next RV. Ben is unhappy because the private school he goes to won't let him use the boys' locker room because he is trans and the lacrosse team hardly lets him play.
Then things start going downhill. A man robs the grocery store, or tries to. Beth gives him advice and he leaves.
The daughter is rejecting her kidney. I'm not sure how they know because all we are shown is that she locked herself in her room. They don't have health insurance. Once again, their financial situation is desperate.
So what do YOU think the girls do?
Before I answer that, and I won't, Beth wakes up in Michigan and refuses to say who did what. The Secret Service say something about sibling rivalry but it's not their case and Annie is taken away in handcuffs.
The good news is Rio works for Beth now.
The End.
