My countdown to season 8 has been thrown off by the rumor that Supernatural's return is being delayed by a week. I noticed last night that the ads for "Arrow" stated that it would premiere on Oct 10 instead of Oct 3. I think this means that Supernatural's season 8 premiere is also being pushed back to Oct 10.

Now I'm back to thinking the 10th. The CW might not have updated their site. After all, their site is still advertising Supernatural on Friday nights. But they showed two episodes last night. I don't know.

And during last night's two re-runs, they advertised the new show "Arrow" as premiering on Oct 10. Since it's on at 8 and Supernatural is on at 9, I'm thinking you're right (dammit) about season 8 not starting until October 10.

CW website is claiming October 3. But that doesn't mean they won't change it.

I am not seeing any info either. The interviews rehash what was said at the conventions. It seems like the only two new characters they think are worth mentioning are Sam's love interest and the Purgatory dude. So, I guess the first half of the season will feature them along with Kevin, of course.

Maybe the show is already catching hell for letting Dean pop our of Purgatory at the beginning of the season.

Or maybe Carver wants to keep everything fairly close to the vest rather than let ALL the cats out of the bag (like Sera was wont to do......and then make it worse by telling fibs!) so that we view each episode without preconceptions.

SoCal, I actually like that idea of holding things back and letting us be surprised in the course of an episode. I thought that they have been giving away too much information the last 2 years.
Honestly I felt it took away some of the enjoyment of watching the show.

I still haven't heard a definitive answer on when SPN starts this season, maybe we will find out the last week of Sept.
