SoCal, I agree with you. I have gotten too used to looking at spoilers and it would be nice if I could stop, it has ruined my enjoyment of an episode more than once. I just don't know that I can.

NC, the more I talk about not wanting to look at spoilers, the more I try to find them!!!
It's so hard to stay away from news about what's going to be happening on the show.
Thankfully, we're just about to September which only leaves one more month of hellatus to endure.

So here we are, September 4. If Supernatural returns on October 3, we are only about 4 1/2 weeks away from nirvana. Please let it be October 3 and NOT October 10!

After that amazing S8 real promo (not the 12 second wonder) I am getting really excited for the new season, it looks great, and Jensen and Jared look wonderful. Dean looks like a real bad ass in it, Sam looks good and Cas looks good too, dirty but good. I can't wait !!!!

Hey everyone! *waves* So much has been happening since I was last on...what? months?...ago! So I've been keeping PLENTY busy during this long Hellatus...no time to be worrying about finding ways to cope this year! Getting sort of late in the eve for me, but I promise to be back and try to catch peeps up on the latest! One major item: spending a week in Vancouver on set of the coming new webseries "After"!!!! Of course, the guys put me straight to work, so I was the BTS photographer. SO FREAKING AWESOME to be a part of the initial pitch (did all the art for the print docs) and now see the story outline that I read come to life in front of me. SO MUCH FUN is had on set! AND lots and lots of hard work, love and effort. LONG days, 12-14 hours. Crazy, insane and gonzo...but I'll be back and diving head-first into it all over again the moment the call comes and more filming for this or anything else is in the works. LOVE to all my fellow Casfriends and SPN peeps! I you all.

AniCat, so great to see you here again. We've missed you. So glad you finally changed your avatar back from our April Fool's joke! Welcome back. It's been too long, hasn't it? There's just been so very much going on all these past months that hanging out in forums gets pushed to the back of the line. But what fun is going on! So much in the works with the guys, "After" being only one of them. I designed the initial pitch for the new series back in March or April...something like that...they got pick up, and then the production planning kicked into high gear. I did the social media art: www.facebook.com/AfterTheSeriestwitter.com/AfterSeriesMost all of the photos in After's Facebook gallery are mine; the social media gal is dripping out the HUNDREDS that I took a bit at a time, to keep people engaged while all the post-production work is done. I've already designed some materials for the full pitch phase, but I'm sure there will be more packaging needs to come when the episodes get closer to completion and things move to the next stage. Currently working on another new production, others are already out and getting passed around on the sales circuit...OMG if even one or two more hit then it's going to be a full-time effort for me! And you're not going to believe this: it was at the end of the 3rd or 4th day of filming, hot as heck in that old Arundel Hotel (where SPN filmed an ep) and we were all mashed into the narrow rooms and hallways. We were in between scenes, the set decs were prepping the hall and the lighting/camera guys were re-arranging stuff. I was shadowing Ivan (Hayden: formerly VFX Supe for SPN, now VP of VFX for the Encore Network) so I could keep getting good action/work shots of him (Divine's BTS photos hardly focused on any of the crew at work.) Our lead actor Robin Dunne (Will on Syfy's "Sanctuary") slipped past me and ducked into this little side room to sit and get some water we were storing there. So I had an eye on Ivan, but was watching Robin out of the corner of my eye. He seemed a bit lonely, sitting there, so I steeled my nerve and decided to chat. We'd said a few words during filming, but not any real conversation. So I opened with "So how did you get involved in all this?" and he told me his story, then asked me about how I got involved, what my part in all this was. I told him about my being the graphic designer for the guys, doing anything and everything for them, pitches for new series, etc....and he said "You know, I do my own stuff too, maybe you could help me package them up for pitch presentations and do the design?" OMG!!!!!!!!! Hell yeah, I could! So now I'm working with Robin too! Fan-freakin-tastic. ;D He is such a NICE guy....all these current and former SPN guys are! LOVE working with them. And to think, all of this came about because I am a Misha/Casfan, wanting to help chip in a couple bucks to the "Divine: The Series" Kickstarter fundraiser last spring a year ago. It's been an amazing, rocket-ride of a year! I hope everyone here follows/friends the guys and series on Twitter and Facebook....they are all awesome and it's great to show them support. W00t!!! Catch ya'll later.

It's good to be back! My plate is full to overflowing these days, but I need to learn that making sure to add in enough social hour is good for my creative soul. Right now I have a logo design on my screen that I'm playing with: my friend Julie Watkins (Channel 30/47 local news weathergal in Jacksonville, FL) has a non-profit she's a part of and they've just put together a new branch to the organization. She's the gal who helped me and my team out so much during last year's GISHWHES: got us on the local 11pm news! And then featured me and my "AMOK" random act of kindness during a morning news live remote, two spots on the a.m. show. Julie is made of awesome, and so it's great to be able to help her out with design work. The friends I've made because directly and indirectly being a part of SPN fandom!! I sent out the script art comps to Robin this morning, and already have had a bunch of emails back and forth from the new webseries producer/director/Divine guys who I sent art to the other night. The new corporate website for the guys is underway, and I have a stack of stuff coming from the webdesign/production company I've been working with in Michigan's Upper P. I like the feeling of having a list, accomplishing art, and crossing stuff off.

I have been working on a SPN rewatch this summer and today I made it in to S6. I noticed something watching the last of S5 into S6.
I know for me sometimes I don't understand why Dean is so angry and gruff and difficult to be around, but in re-watching, I realized why Dean is the way he is. Dean has consistently worked towards hunting and killing and trying to make things right. He has had to watch his brother die a couple of times, and almost everyone else he has ever cared about has died. At the end of S5 he had to "give up" his brother and at the start of S6 Sam and Bobby admit they both kept him in the dark about Sam being back for a year. It suddenly clicked for me as to why Dean acts as he has. Just once I would like to see Dean get something nice or see someone treat him nice.
I am not discounting in anyway what Sam has gone thru, I am pointing out what I noticed about Dean, as I get further along in S6 I will probably post what I think about Sam.

NovembersChild, I like your summary and insight. I understand why Dean acts the way he does. It is a wonder that he can trust what anyone tells him, and he has suffered major losses. Heck, I would be curled up in a corner somewhere.

You know, I can remember in season 1 when Sam told Dean that after they killed the demon, he would go back to school and get on with the life he had established away from John and Dean and Dean told him that their dad and Sam were all he had. It's sad to think that Dean's whole world revolves around such a small circle and even sadder to think that those closest to him don't realize how much he has given up for them.

Anti and SoCal, I absolutely agree, Dean has always been about family. He has always done whatever he needed to look after Sam and at the same time hunting and fighting evil. He has given up his dreams of a "apple pie life" , and as long as he has Sam he seems OK with that choice. Once Sam was gone, he went to Lisa but you could see in his eyes that he never really fit in that lifestyle, he cared deeply for Lisa, but I am not sure he loved her. Bobby and Sam both hid the fact that Sam was back and yelled at Dean when he found out. They felt he should have been happy with his new life and that he was able to get out of the life, but we can see in Dean's eyes, that he only tolerated that other life because he had too, not because he wanted to. Dean has always wanted to be with Sam, and I think as the years have gone by Sam has become more about being with his brother, I see it more in S5-S7, than in the early years. It seems as if towards the end of S5 and after Sam gets his soul back he is more focused on the family aspect. I think as I get further into S6 I may see more into Sam's viewpoint and will have a better feel for him. I have watched all of SPN multiple times and get more out of it every time I see it. Btw I don't mean any of this as wincest or anything like that, I don't like that aspect of SPN fandom.

I picked up the S7 DVDs today and I am watching the first episode. I wanted to make sure the set is okay and now I can delete 20+ hours of Supernatural from my DVR. The price tag on the set read $49.99, but Best Buy sold it for $29.99.

I ordered mine a couple of weeks ago, and got it yesterday. I watched the gag reel and Jensen singing all out of love. I think Jensen is more hilarious when he is being funny on his own, rather than when he has to say some of the stupid dialog they come up with. It's almost time

I like the gag reel, but the funniest parts are the honest mistakes like when sexy Dean could not remove the shirt. I can imagine him seducing a woman and getting tangled in his shirt. I watched the finale with the commentary on. I am surprised Sera sounded nervous and unsure of what to say, but she has done commentaries before. I'll watch the rest of that tomorrow. The music extra was much longer than usual, but I watched it all the way through because it is very interesting.

Dang, my copy of season 7 (from Amazon) hasn't arrived yet. Has it arrived? I did not get the Blu-Ray this time because the S6 discs would force me to eject, then reload the disc whenever I wanted to skip around on the disc. Those are the only DVDs that do that. Very irritating.

SoCal, Did you get S7 yet? I don't care for SG but made myself listen to the commentary for 7.23 between her and Robert Singer. That was 40 minutes of my life I will never get back, they are both dull and boring when they talk, and she had a lot of nervous laughter. I promise to never do it again.

Since I managed only half of that commentary before switching to the one about the score for Time After Time, I think I will skip the rest of it. Thanks for the warning.

My season 7 dvd set arrived today. I haven't viewed anything yet because season 7 certainly wasn't my favorite but when the weekend rolls around again, I'll pop in the final disk to see directors stuff and the gag reel.
Any recommendations?

SoCal, Watch Jensen sing all out of Love, it's an extra and I think it is on the same DVD with Slash Fiction. The gag reel is shorter this year, I am not happy about that, but they had more unaired scenes floating around on the disks, but I haven't watched a whole lot of it yet myself.
