Hard to believe that we all started out as regular people looking for a place to hang out and now where we have gone since then!

-_- Gabby, you just did that because you didn't like gghevn7. But she was bad-ass, I bet you don't remember the hotrev. I was the one who messed with her. Sorry, Bev. I couldn't resist. But I didn't say your old username, did I?

“The Candyce Mod” (Based on “The Candy Man” by Sammy Davis Jr.) I'm hearing the original on the radio right now.

I found the newbie thread.
It takes some effort to go through the sent folder when they only show you a few at a time.
Then I looked at the email address I sent the emails to. I only found one, but they weren't in order by date. Plus they weren't in the right folder anyway. But going through the folder is simpler in the email I sent the newbie information to.
What should I start with? I should probably forward it to Mistermoonlight and let him look the thread over, because he might have something he likes best.

Here are 2 "fictions" that I would normally post in the Fiction area of the forum, but they concern the fate of one of the original moderators on the WB Boards ... and there is always the possibility that there is more truth than fiction in the accounts:
=======
“Imprisoned”
Candyce saw the masseuse leave so she knew that her “guest” would want her dinner soon. She loaded a tray with turkey (sliced white meat), one turkey leg, mashed potatoes with extra butter, chestnut dressing, gravy (on the side in a gravy boat), corn, cranberry sauce, a large slice of pumpkin pie buried under a mound of freshly whipped cream and a chilled glass of Diet Pepsi (no ice). She put a fresh cut rose in a vase and an after dinner mint on the food tray. She inspected her silver to make sure that it wasn’t tarnished and placed the shiniest silverware on a linen napkin next to the fine china plate. She stuck a bottle of red wine under her arm, lifted the tray and carefully made her way down the basement stairs.
At the base of the stairs, she sat everything down on a serving cart and pushed it down the hallway to the vault door. After a retina scan and palm print were taken, the one foot think door swung open allowing her to proceed down the hallway. A bulletproof glass panel opened to allow her into an alcove where she could look through the bars of the spacious studio apartment/cell. She looked to make sure that the maid had wiped down all of the gym equipment and put fresh towels by the hot tub. Her guest followed a strict routine: mild exercise, some time in the hot tub while listening to classical music, a vigorous massage from an ex-Mr. Universe, a few minutes with the daily paper, and then some time in front of the wide screen plasma TV before having dinner and spending some quality time on the internet.
Candyce saw her in her vibrating reclining chair where she always waited for dinner. She was eating bon-bons and watching the new Batman movie 10 months before its release date.
Candyce opened an automatic panel and slid the cart inside. When the panel shut on her side, a second panel opened inside the cell and the cart was pushed out by a robotic arm. Candyce’s guest’s head snapped around when she heard the panel moving. The woman ran to the bars and gripped them as she slid to her knees. She begged, “Please, Candyce, PLEASE! We were best of friends once before our careers got in the way. For pity’s sake and out of respect for the friendship that we once had, don’t continue to make me live here deprived of the only thing that gave my life meaning!”
Candyce thought about it for a while, then she wrote a number down on a piece of paper and handed it through the bars and into the eager hands of the woman inside. She said sternly, “I am feeling generous today so I will let you go in and edit the boards for TWO HOURS! After that time, I will lock you out of the system and change the password. But you must remember these rules: One. You have to make edits using MY name. Two. No matter what she does, don’t suspend or banish the Duck! She is mine. DO YOU UNDERSTAND!”
The woman answered, “Thank you, THANK YOU! I understand perfectly! You can trust me. I know what you can do if I disobey.” Having said that, Caroline ignored her meal and ran to her computer and logged onto the WB Boards as WB Candyce.
The End
=======
“The Silence of the Ducks”
Candyce stood looking through the bars at Caroline. She said, “I am tired of your constant attempts to escape.”
Caroline said, “I will promise never to try to escape again, Clarisse, if you tell me something I want to know.”
Candyce answered, “My name is CANDYCE! How many times do I have to tell you that?”
Caroline said, “As long as you keep calling me “Caroline the Wimp on Line,” I’ll keep calling you Clarisse.”
Candyce said, “Whatever.”
Caroline asked, “So Clarisse, is it a deal? Tell me the story I want to hear and I will never try to escape again.”
Candyce said, “Sure.”
Caroline said, “Tell me about … the silence of … the DUCKS!”
Candyce said, “It’s not “ducks” it’s “DuckDuckGoose.””
Caroline said, “If there are two Ducks then it’s the same as “DUCKS-Goose." It's my prerogative as a Moderator to modify whatever I choose!"
Candyce said, “EX Moderator ... but, Whatever.”
Caroline said, “So, Clarisse, tell me. TELL ME!”
Candyce said, “After I banished Duck for good, I would wake up in the middle of the night and there would be 50 PMs from Pyro saying “Give me back my favorite screen name! Re-instate the Duck, RE-INSTATE THE DUCK NOW!!!” Every morning there would be 50 more PMs from Pyro saying “Re-instate the Duck, RE-INSTATE THE DUCK NOW!!!” By the end of the day, there would have been more than 500 more PMs from Pyro saying “Re-instate the Duck, RE-INSTATE THE DUCK NOW!!!” I couldn’t stand it … I JUST COULDN’T STAND IT ANYMORE!” Candyce began to cry softly.
Caroline asked, “Then what, Clarisse, then what did you do?”
Candyce said, “I re-instated her. I re-instated her just so I wouldn’t hear her voice screaming in my brain “Re-instate the Duck, RE-INSTATE THE DUCK NOW!!!” She’s back on the board now, but the PMs and the voices in my head have been silenced.”
Caroline said, “And you call ME “Wimp on Line!!!””
Candyce wiped her tears and blew her nose and said, “Now you know the story. I did what I said I would do, so now you will never try to escape again. Correct?”
Caroline said, “Not correct. Of course I will try to escape. I lied!”
The End

One More:
"Their First Special Child"
Martha and Jonathan had adopted a child before Clark appeared in his spaceship. Over time they became aware that this child was different. She had special powers. The experience put them into financial difficulties for the years that followed but, in some ways, she helped prepare them for their task ahead.
Jon: "Candyce, I think you had better clean the ____ out of the horse stalls. It's your job and it's long overdue." Candyce: "Clean the what, Papa? Jon: "The ____. Clean the ____ out of the stalls." Candyce: "I will do anything you ask Papa, but you have to make me understand what you want."
Jon: "Well, I don't know why I can't have you clean the ___ out of the horse stalls, but at least you can ____ the dishes after dinner."
Candyce: "Do what with the dishes?" Jon:"____ the dishes then "
Candyce: "I don't understand."
Jon: "Well, get the vacuum cleaner and ______ ___ _______ with it."
Candyce: "What?"
Jon: "Nevermind. Just __ your homework."
Candyce: "Can I watch TV?"
Jon: "Yes, ____ ___ __ ___ ________, you can watch TV."
Candyce: "Great! Oh. Do I get an allowance?"
Jon: "Yes, you get $500.00 a week. Wait. I didn't say that!"
Candyce: "Then what did you say?" Jon: "I said that you get $50,000.00 ... and the keys to my new truck." Jon abruptly covered his mouth with both hands.
Candyce hopped up from watching TV, said "Thanks Papa," took the truck keys, drove to the bank and then disappeared never to be seen again ... although it is rumored that she eventually harnessed her powers for good. Hey wait a minute! I didn't say that! Oh yes I did.

Some more advice from the CW boards: As promised, here is one of those helpful posts from one of our members (I have revised it slightly, and I didn't copy the member's name, so I don't know you PM). If you are confused come here!!!!! Help has come -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- since a lot of people are confused here are some things I know about these boards... *In the column all the way to the left on a forum page has an envelope with an arrow coming out of it, it means you have posted in that thread. If you hold move the mouse over it it will tell you how many posts you have in that thread. * If you hold the mouse over the thread title it will show you what the first post says, so you can skim through what you want to read and what you don't. *If you click on the little box with the check next to the thread title, it will take you to the first new reply since your last visit. *To change your info such as location, age and birthday go to "My CW Lounge" [on the left side of the green bar near the top of the screen] and it will all be in there. *The icons that are below the text box when you are replying to a post show what you think about the topic, it will appear in the left corner of your post. *if you are editing a topic you don't NEED to put a reason thats just for if you had a change of heart, you don't need to put typo, but you can if you want I hope this helps a little bit. These boards are new but they have a lot of cool new features. If any one needs anything else PM me...ps you need to turn this on go to "my CW Lounge" and click my options on the left side and read the stuff about Private Messaging. One of our helpful posters said this: A Common Courtesy To Fellow Posters 1. Before making a new thread please take a few moments to glance the board and see if a thread of a similar nature has already been posted. 2. When typing please use full and complete sentences with correct grammar. It makes it very difficult to read when people turn what could be a paragraph into one long sentence. Try and organize your thoughts with periods. 3. Spell things correctly and steer clear of IM slang terms and acronyms; those are annoying. ============================================ More advice: Originally Posted by daddysgirl09 what is "bumping" threads? i know that is going to make me sound really dumb but i've heard people talking about it and i was just wondering Originally Posted by DutchCharmed Bump means: Bring Up My Post People on the WB used to do it but now we get the [...] that our message is to short when we type in Bump ============================================== Even more advice: Originally Posted by hammie Tips... let's see... don't complain about clubs (seriously, if you don't like 'em, don't post on 'em); don't use numbers in place of words; don't make spam threads about which characters suck; if you want the name of a song and you know some of the lyrics already, try looking it up on Google before posting a panicked "HELP ABOUT A SONG!!!!!" thread; don't post fanfics except on the fanfic thread [this was on the Gilmore Girls board]; don't post a thread with a title like "MAJOR SPOILER!!!" or "I KNOW WHO WILL HAVE A BABY!!!" only to put "Just kidding! Now that I have your attention...." in the body of the thread. If it's not interesting enough that the actual subject will catch people's attention, then there's no need to post it in the first place. I'll think of more later. In addition, some people respect wit, some respect kindness, and some require both before they'll consider a poster worthy of their admiration. Senior posters who are founders or longtime members of large board clubs or threads are generally going to have a larger following, since they've got time and the other club members on their side. If you're going to be disrespectful to these people (even if they deserve it :wink you're taking a risk, unless they're good-humored enough to shake it off and "call off the dogs," so to speak. A different sort of respect is given to intelligent newcomers who haven't annoyed anyone yet. They are "innocent until proven guilty," and anyone who harrasses them without cause is bound to be treated in much the same way as an adult who walks up to a random child and slaps him or her in the face. Basically, try to be civil when conversing with anyone who's been here six months or longer, and don't try to pick on anyone who spells better than you.

Here are Maxine's comments on why there will not be custom avatars. A lot of what she says should be helpful in getting people not to complain so much. Exactly how much free time do you think we have? Why risk exposing people to offensive pictures at all when this is so much easier? === If avatars are such a big issue to you then I reccomend you go to one of those other sites that allow your own. It's not going to happen here. More avatars were added yesterday and more will be added once they are approved. Since you have no clue how our tools work you have no idea what it entails to delete or do any other function of these boards. Unless you are a moderator that is. === So instead of moderating the boards we would spend all of our time screening avatars. Some people would want them changed daily. Then they would complain about the length of time it took to get them approved, and on, and on. === I'm tempted to have the Avatar function turned off. That way you would not be able to complain about not being able to upload your own. It was not an issue on the old boards since they were not an option at all. === I will say this. Susie and I both work "another" site that is busier or as busy as this. They are allowed to upload their own avatars and no the members don't follow the rules and no they don't follow the size guidelines and yes a huge portion of our time there is spent doing nothing more then deleting siggys and avatars. That is not going to happen here. === Where exactly is this trying to help? We have posted over and over that people would not be allowed to upload their own avatars. We answer that question and get the "well other sites do it", it's not that big of a deal, etc. No reason why not is good enough. Yes that is whining. Susie called it as she saw it. === Another thread: We tell people they can't spam and can't swear but that does not stop them. What makes you think if they had rules about avatars they would follow them? As Susie and I have both said in previous posts, it's not worth the risk. There are people of all ages here and we have to take that into consideration. === Custom Avatars will not be allowed. More from Maxine about custom avatars and other concerns: We have posted this before. That is a suggestion that will not even be considered. It's not worth the risk, the aggravation and all the work it would take to screen and delete the inappropriate things that would be posted. They added more avatars last week and more will be added as they become approved. As for the suggestion about the colors? That won't change either unless The CW changes their color schemes. This is the color that the network chose. ============================================ Susie's comments about why there will not be custom avatars (along with other complaints, though they were on the same thread): Looks like there's about 92 more avatars than were offered at the old site. *cough* whiners *cough* === Or maybe we could just work 24/7 to provide something that isn't necessary for people who are never satisfied anyway... === I'm imagining it... "You approved HERS, but not MINE, and MINE was better." "Why is it taking so long??? I sent it in four minutes ago!" "Will you make my avatar? I don't know how." "Just because my avatar is the size of a football field is no reason to not approve it. You just are biased against puppies, since that's what the picture is. CAT LOVER! Hmph." "Why can't we have bewbies on our avatars?? Woman-haters!" === The only person I see slinging insults here is you. I would love to know exactly what other sites are so much busier and the mods are perfect and they never have any problems with Avatars. === I wonder how many times we've said, "we know about the quotes, and it's being worked on." Sheesh, people... we've been open a few days. The alternative was delaying opening, until every possible kink was worked out. I'm pretty accustomed to this childish behavior, all the whining and carrying on about every little change, but even I've been surprised at the way some of you have acted this week. Unbelievable. === Yeah... let's get the CW's techs to use CW time to make non-CW avatars for the CW boards. Makes sense. Maybe they could make some that are for The OC or something. === Uh, no one is being put down. And saying that some of these folks are whining is like saying that the boards are green. *shrug* === You guys might consider how disturbing it could be to young people if they were exposed to really disturbing images here, even briefly. Text is one thing... images are completely different. Ever had a picture you just couldn't get out of your mind? ============================================= And then there's this: The Icon Fairy left mine, and a $20 bill under my pillow! Another version: To bring up the Avatar Chooser Screen, just press Ctrl-Alt-Delete, and "End Task" on Internet Explorer. ============================================= How do u change ur avatar??? Originally Posted by SpoonieLuv001 you can try all you want, but if your avatar doesn't WANT to change, it doesn't matter..... About locked and deleted threads: ============================================== Advice from Maxine: The threads were locked because they were spam. We allow a couple of threads about cancelled shows. We don't alow the board to be spammed with multiple threads about any topic. One person making multiple threads all about the same topic are spam. More advice from Maxine: Many of you have noticed we have been locking/deleting many threads in the last few days. There are many reasons this is happening. One is that when you have a thread and you keep posting the word bump in it for the purpose of it staying on page one, that is considered spam. We don't allow people to do that. Do not bump a thread for the sole purpose of keeping it on page one. There are numerous threads here with nothing but page after page of the word bump. The other reason threads are being locked or deleted is the excessive foul language and fighting going on here. It stops now. We are setting bans without warning on those caught bypassing the word filter. You have all had plenty of warning about language on this board. If you can't show a little bit of self control in that area you will not be allowed to post here. Repeat offenses will result in permanent suspensions. The fanfics are overrunning this board. We have been begging the powers that be with the CW to allow us to set up a fanfic board. Until we get that approval we may lock and or delete all fanfics. They are overtaking this board and it's not what this board is here for and not fair to those who are not interested in reading or writing fanfics. If you have a thread that was locked or deleted do not repost it. Once it's locked you have lost the privilege of having that thread any longer. Many of you would benefit from taking a moment to review our Community Guidelines. You may save yourself some heartache in the future and avoid losing your posting privileges here if you read the rules and follow them. lounge.cwtv.com/faq.php?faq=n...ine_fa q_item Thanks for your cooperation. ============================================== Maxine had this to say to a request to delete a thread: No. There is nothing wrong with it. I don't moderate on your demand I moderate when things go against the rules. Just stop posting on this thread and it will drop. And this was a response: Originally Posted by RabidHappy Maxine only does what Susie says...she's her *****. ============================================== Originally Posted by 3sheet2thewind WOW a current event on the boards and it has not been removed!! A red letter day. Maybe this is one topic that can be discussed, or the Mods are asleep? They do seem to be rather inconstancy in their policy of what we can talk about on the boards. As long as there is no foul language we should have the "freedom of speech" on the boards regardless of the topics that we chose to post. That should not be the job of the Mods. Originally Posted by CWModMax I see a ton of current event and vaired topics being discussed on this board. I have not a clue what you are complaining about. Yes it is the mods job to regulate the conversations on these boards. That is exactly what we are here for. As long as a topic is not against our guidelines it's always allowed to stay on the General Board. The show boards are a bit stricter because you should be talking about the shows on those boards and not spamming them up with a ton of off topic chatter. Originally Posted by 3sheet2thewind Most of the "current event" thread topics are delete from this site. If it is not the policy of the CW then one of the Mods has some explaining about the deletion of threads. For example: there was one about Kwanzaa that was deleted, but the ones about Christmas and Santa Clause were left alone. I don't know what current events are allow or not, as there is no rhyme or reason for most of the deletions of threads. The WB had the right policy on letting us have some freedom on the discussion of controversial subjects added bonus it was fun to talk to people with different points of view and most of the time it was very civilised and enlightening. Originally Posted by CWModMax If you mean the Kwanzaa threads that were spammed on every board? Yeah when a person posts something on every single board and it becomes spam of course it's going to be deleted. It was not a conversation either but a link to an obscure article. That is the only Kwanzza threads that I have seen deleted. If you ever have a question as to why a thread was deleted all you have to do is PM Susie or I and ask. We can usually find out the reason and it's usually a valid reason. ============================================== From the Purgatory thread: Originally Posted by amnesiavictim1 Holy Cats!!! Some of the lucky or oft-used ones get passed over or moved, but the others are simply deleted so posters don't have to sift through a thousand "TPBM" and "Think Of A Word" games in order to find a thread with actual conversation on it. The ignore feature: ================================================== Susie's comments: People always SAY that they're using the ignore feature, but they almost never actually do it. They can't stand to miss seeing what someone might say about them. --- If you want to put people on ignore, then do it. But do not discuss it. Maxine answered a question about Talking Mod Weekend:
Talking Mod weekend is the only time we have allowed the Mods to post. Because of all the new stuff and the transition I don't think we will be hosting one at our normal time this year. Maybe later in the year we can do something but right now it's just to new, too busy, and we need to allow the Mods to settle into their new homes. SusieQ bought them all new ankle chains which was nice but it's taking some getting used to. CWModAmy and CWModCorky1 tried to escape. Good thing Gramps spilled some ointment on the floor or they would have made a clean get away. ============================================== Maxine on rankings:
Originally Posted by HopelessRomantic At the risk of sounding too demanding. Do you think you can put "add rankings" on you list too. === It's already been done and is being discussed. The bad thing about rankings is people tend to spam to get to the next level. ============================================== Several posts by Maxine about the moderators' avatar:
Yes the moderation team was just given a special avatar.
They are still working on updating the data base with the new smileys and the new avatar so it's not quite working yet.
I really enjoyed Buffy and Angel. I think I'll watch the whole evening though just to see what I missed. ----- It says the CW at an angle in green of course. It's just a bit different from what is available to the members. ============================================== Fforde: Hi, CWModMax! It is great to meet you, although we old WB boardsters are kinda depressed with the new smilies, which aren't as "mobile or varied" as the great ones we had on the old WB Board. Yet this board does have a lot going for it; I like the new colours. But how do we post private messages on this new board? Or do we?
Reply from Maxine: Fforde,
You and I have met before! It's me Maxine I just decided to go with Mod Max instead! hehehehe
Fforde you need to turn on your private message function. Up at the top go to My CW Lounge. In the left column go to edit options. That is where you can turn on your private message functions, set the time etc. In that area you can also edit your profile and hide your birth date.
I know you guys want your own avatars and siggys. It's not going to happen folks. We have trouble keeping up with all the posts let alone trying to preview and approve signatures and avatars for thousands of members. ============================================== Maxine on the fact that banned members are identified as such:
We don't like it either. It's not our goal to humiliate members. It's on the list of things that are being worked on and hopefully can be changed. ============================================== More from Maxine:
The word filter as with other things has some quirks to be worked out. I'll warn you all now though that if you continue swearing on the boards which you all know is not allowed you will lose your posting privileges. ============================================== Some humor from Maxine:
Quote: Originally Posted by TheCookieMonster personally i think this is bordering on censorship --- Who said this was a democracy?
Personally I prefer educated posters. === Quote: Originally Posted by TheCookieMonster i think its funny that the mod is now insulting me

We could make this more formal and issue formal warnings/bannings. Where is the fun in that though? You would think members would rather have an open exchange with the moderators rather then get in trouble. I guess I was wrong though. ============================================== More from Maxine about censorship:

A supreme court justice that was there when the first amendment was made, said the only limits to the first amendment are if the speech in question "poses a clear and present danger." Im not saying im going to kill any body when I say the f word. Im just trying to express myself in ways I feel comfortable. PLUS:You cant even say Veronica Mars character D-I-C-K's name!!!

Advice from Susie: There will be no presidential elections... this is not a democracy, it's a Susocracy and a Maxocracy! BOW TO US.... On another note... for all you millions of users who can't bear to be on these boards because the forum jump is sooooo far down the page, I have a few suggestions. 1. Turn your monitor upside down. That will bring the forum jump up to the top. 2. If you find yourself at the top of the page, and have the urge to change to another board, and scrolling just seems too daunting, click the link at the top that says "The CW Lounge - Message Boards," and then click the forum you want. Yes, it's two clicks, but the horror of the scrolling issue goes away. 3. If you just really like that forum jump feature, in spite of the carpal tunnel problem it's likely giving you (from excessive scrolling, of course), consider tapping your "end" button on your keyboard one time. That will drop you to the bottom of the page, where you'll find that wonderful feature provided to you by the excellent CW tech crew and the designers of the forum software. 4. If none of the above solutions suit you, consider pointing your cursor to that X in the upper right corner of this window. That will certainly solve everything. Hope this helps! ============================================== Some of these problems may have been fixed by now. And it is unlikely, but possible, that anyone who posted on the WB boards needs to know some of this: WBSusieQ Supreme Goddess of the Internet Joined: Feb 24, 2003 Posts: 3431 Posted: 08-23 21:21:00 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Please read ALL OF THESE INSTRUCTIONS before trying to register, and if you still have trouble registering, please READ THEM AGAIN before contacting me for help. Some of the reserved names did not make it through the system. Some were too short, some had emails that the system didn't recognize. If you reserved name, it does NOT mean you're registered. It just means that (hopefully) your name is being saved for you. It is attached to the email that you reserved it with. If you try to register the name with a different email, or use that email with a different user name, it is likely that you will lose both. First, make sure your email address is working, and that you aren't blocking unrecognized messages. Now, check it again. You're going to need to receive an email, in order to register. Go to lounge.cwtv.com/ and look in the upper right corner. There is a blue box there. Click "Register." Fill in the information there. Your screen name needs to be at least 6 characters, and not more than 16. Type your email address carefully. Remember, you will have to be able to receive an email at that address, in order to complete the registration. Go ahead and put in your name; it won't be visible after you register. Put in your date of birth... you can hide it later, if you want. Put in a zip code. If you're from another country, and your postal code won't work, just use a random US zip code. Click the box that says that you agree to the rules. Check everything again. Then click "Create CW Profile." You should get a window that tells you that an email has been sent. Go check your email. Click the link that is in the email. (If you can't click it, copy it, and paste it into your browser.) You should get a window that tells you that you're registered, and that you can log in now. KEEP READING! At this time, all browsers are not fully supported on The CW system. Internet Explorer works, and it seems like Mozilla Firefox works. AOL's browser DOES NOT WORK ON THE CW BOARDS. Don't waste your time trying to log in with that browser. If you don't have Internet Explorer, go download it. It is free. If you don't know how, ask your parents. If they don't know how, ask your five-year-old cousin. Log into the CW boards, using the blue box in the upper right corner. Put your user name and your password in, and click "Sign in." If everything went well, you should see a message that says "Welcome (user name)" If you are not able to log in, try these things: 1. Retype your user name and password, very carefully. 2. Make sure you are using Internet Explorer, and not AOL or another browser that is not supported. 3. Clear your cache, delete your cookies, delete your temporary internet files. 4. Reboot your system. 5. Try again. If you still can't get in, you may need to start completely over. Pay attention now. You cannot re-use the user name OR the email address that you used the first time. You will need to use a different email address. If you don't have a different one, you may need to go make a new one at hotmail or yahoo or one of the freemail services on the Internet. If you do this, complete the entire process of gaining an email address BEFORE you attempt to register again. Once you've got a new email address, you'll need a new user name, too. You can change the one you used in the first place, like add a number to it, or something like that, but it must NOT be the same user name. Repeat the process listed above, from the beginning. After that, if you still can't get in, read this entire message again. Then, and only then, you may contact me on AIM, using the same name I'm posting with here. If I don't answer, it's because I'm not there. Good luck. ============================================== Humor from Susie: Originally Posted by Mediapro I Just had a vision that Susie and The Tech having some Kinky Phone Talks Is my phone tapped again?!? A simple explanation about how to activate your private messages is above. Here's a more complicated one from a helpful poster: How to Set your Options to Send and Receive PM's You do not have the ability to receive or send PMs. If you aren't familiar with PMs look at them as a form of internal email between members posting on here. But, you have to set your "Options" to send and receive them. Here's how..... From the General Board Topics 1. Click on “My CW Lounge” (left side of screen, about half way down) 2. Click on “Edit Options” (left side of screen) 3. You are at “Messaging and Notification” which has 3 subheadings: a. Receive Email b. Default Thread Subscripton Mode c. Private Messaging 4. In “Private Messaging”, click on the boxes “Enable Private Messaging” and “Show New Private Message Nitification Pop-up” Since you are already there, look through the other options as the other choices are personal preferences – for example, the WYSIWYG text option. However, if you want to try some and experiment, write down what you did and where the selection was in the event that you don’t like your selection and want to reverse it. And, if you want to run a test after you have set your options, send me a PM to see if it is working according to the way you set it up (we will be out most of the afternoon though so you probably won't get an immediate reply) Enjoy! ================================================== Originally Posted by troubledpenguin Stick your head out the window and call out people's names. But for us packrats who like to save the funny, weird, or interesting PM's, 50 just doesn't seem like enough. A good way to slow down the buildup is to uncheck the box under each PM you write that says "Save a copy of this message in my Sent Items folder" unless you really want to keep it. Otherwise, your saved messages tend to accumulate without your noticing (being in a different folder), and when you do notice, you feel obligated to search through them for ones that might worth keeping rather than just deleting them all at once. Q. In the first column they have red stars && squares, green stars && squares, but what does the envelope mean??
A. I think what you mean by the envelope is a down arrow in a box. Hold your cursor over it and it says, "Go to first new post on this topic." It probably looks at your cookies to tell when the last time you signed in was and will take you to the page where new posts begin.
Otherwise, scroll to the bottom of the page. There is an explanation of those symbols.

Company Policy for Mods
Effective Immediately
Dress Code
It is advised that you come to work dressed according to your salary. If we see you wearing Prada shoes and carrying a Gucci bag, we assume you are doing well financially and therefore do not need a raise. If you dress poorly, you need to learn to manage your money better, so that you buy nicer clothes, and therefore you do not need a raise. If you dress just right, you are right where you need to be and therefore you do not need a raise.
Sick Days
We will no longer accept a doctor's statement as proof of sickness. If you are able to go to the doctor, you are able to come to work.
Personal Days
Each employee will receive 104 personal days a year. They are called Saturday & Sunday.
Bereavement Leave
This is no excuse for missing work. There is nothing you can do for dead friends, relatives or co-workers. Every effort should be made to have non-employees attend to the arrangements. In rare cases where employee involvement is necessary, the funeral should be scheduled in the late afternoon. We will be glad to allow you to work through your lunch hour and subsequently leave one hour early.
Toilet Use
Entirely too much time is being spent in the toilet. There is now a strict three-minute time limit in the stalls. At the end of three minutes, an alarm will sound, the toilet paper roll will retract, the stall door will open, and a picture will be taken. After your second offence, your picture will be posted on the company bulletin board under the "Chronic Offenders category". Anyone caught smiling in the picture will be sanctioned under the company's mental health policy.
Lunch Break
Skinny people get 30 minutes for lunch, as they need to eat more, so that they can look healthy. Normal size people get 15 minutes for lunch to get a balanced meal to maintain their average figure. Chubby people get 5 minutes for lunch, because that's all the time needed to drink a Slim-Fast.
Thank you for your loyalty to our company. We are here to provide a positive employment experience. Therefore, all questions, comments, concerns, complaints, frustrations, irritations, aggravations, insinuations, allegations, accusations, contemplations, consternation and input should be directed elsewhere.
