I've been reading through old posts on the WB and found the title of James' (KryptonianKnight) thread on the general board. He changed it often to include the current names of the members posting on it but this was from 2005. Aka the blue boards:

"silly,Shy,Legacy,Phat79,mswt3,peachesnoil,and guests!"

Sillymeover has already stated that she has no interest in coming here.
But the rest of the members have yet to find this place.

Peaches was a good friend. Her brother Jackson was too. He was a very creative fan fiction writer.

Peaches real name was the same as a famous movie star of my parents' time. She worked in carpentry ... building trusses for construction projects. I told her I could use a truss but not the kind she built. Jackson served many tours of duty in the military.

Okay, basically they're ittybitty files sites stick in your computer so they can remember who you are and keep you logged in (like on Myspace) or see where you go online (for advertising purposes, of course :wink You can set your computer to block cookies, but if you block them all, you won't be able to log into most of your online accounts.

Not to be confused with the cookies given out as prizes for various board/Myspace events.

Well, my friends... it's time for The Susinator to move on down the road. I've got some other opportunities, and, to be frank, Max has a bit of a stench about her, so I need some fresh air. Not just that, but ever since we cut back on daily Mod showering (due to some high jinx involving Gramps, Wang, most of the girls, and a tube of ointment), the Mods are pretty smelly, too.

But seriously... I think I've been here (including the WB boards before this) for five years or so. A few of you were here before me, but nearly all of you have stumbled in under my watch. It feels like I've watched some of you grow up (although, we're still waiting on Spoonie).

Here's my advice to carry you through life: Don't suck. Write it on a little post-it note or tattoo it on your butt if you can't remember it, but just remember it. Whatever you do in life, don't suck at it. Don't suck when it comes to family, school, faith, friends, love, employment. Notice who does something well, then emulate them in not sucking.

Perhaps I'll make a non-mod name here, and come in and harass you all until Max bans me. For those of you who have used my AIM name through the years to ask advice and give me juicy little details, you may continue to do so. I'll use that same name, at least for now. Don't be strangers... and definitely don't be stranger than Spoonie.

Please be good to Max, but not so good that she gets a big head. She is my dear friend, whom I love wholeheartedly. She'll be in contact with me daily, so make sure she keeps me informed.

So, as I finish my raft, grab Wilson the volleyball, and push out to sea away from Mod Island, I bid you all a fond farewell. I'll probably get crushed by a cruise ship, but hopefully the Coast Guard rescue team will be hawt. As I drift away, I wonder why Corky is mooning me....

Chalynm created this thread for a specific purpose, i.e. "Mod/Tech Help Please". Since all three posts were regarding the very SAME issue, it's totally logical they're all on this one thread.

The poster clearly stated their tech problem, explained what they had done to try to correct it, specifically asked for help, then patiently waited for a response. That, and being frustrated, does NOT constitute complaining.

Yes, my response to your post was totally necessary, for several reasons.

The poster is not here, and may never return, to defend themselves.

Your overt hostility towards a well-behaved new member, who was simply asking for help, demanded to be addressed. Your abrasive, unwarranted attitude and condescending tone towards this member deserved a severe rebuke.

Posts such as yours do not reflect well on the majority of other members, who would very likely be way more accepting, welcoming and tolerant of a newbie.

What you think and feel is entirely up to you. My goal was not and is not to change your mind. My one and only intention in responding to your post was strictly to state the fact that abuse of any member is not OK and will not go unanswered.

Sorry, painting yourself as merely being "honest" does not excuse or hide ill behavior. Labeling yourself "honest" does not give you carte blanche to direct unprovoked hostility and little-minded spitefulness toward an innocent board member.

Furthermore, I do not recall seeing any board notice making you the mods' watchdog.

It must be nice to apparently be so totally self-assured and self-sufficient that you can look down your nose at others, who may not be.

In the future, do take care never to need help or request assistance. Uncharitable attitudes such as yours have a way of making the karmic rounds.

The oldest thing I remember about the WB boards is the Adventures Of Rory And Her Pet Chupacabra thread... although I can't remember the chupacabra's name. I don't think he liked Linkin Park though.

Although the cloning experiments have been successful and there's a new crop learning the ropes, it has come to our attention that the CW Mods are in desperate need of volunteer assistance, particularly on Bingo night.

We're offering you the thrilling opportunity to join the Mod Auxillary League, and handle some of the less important things our diligent Mods don't have time to handle. For example, CWMod Gramps could use someone trained in echolocation to run sonar scans when he tows Mod Island to a new location.There is a desperate need for shipper sanity determination officers. Perhaps you'd be interested in the Corporal Punishment for Use of Text Language in Posts department. You get the idea.

We'll also present the biography of a "Mod of the Week" so you can get to know our leaders a little better.

If there's an area in which you would like to offer expertise and assistance, please give yourself a title and join us.
