I'm up to post #224. It's in an email called "Goddess of Ice part 3".
That's all for today. Sorry, I didn't even get around to adding to this site's newbie thread.

Why links are often deleted:
Originally Posted by CWModGramps Well I ain't just any Mod but I will try to explain.
A link overall is fine depending on what it is.
If a person just comes on and makes a thread saying GO HERE!!! That would be considered spam. Same as if they just make a thread asking people to visit their blog or page or space or whatever.
Youtube links are not allowed at all no matter the context. The CW prides itself on the moderation and what is allowed to be posted. Many hours have gone into making the rules with more people and lawyers then even they care to admit. CWTV is a PG13 site.
Youtube is considered R and the content they allow goes against the CW's rules here.
If the link is in context with the story and is used as reference or is needed to explain the story and the link is a site that follows the same guidelines that CWTV has then no problem.
But each link has to be checked. At busy times a Mod may not have time to visit each site they find a link for so it is easier to just delete it or edit it. Not the best method but it is what it is.
We try not to just blatantly edit out content that is needed for a post to be complete but I know at times it seems like we do.
I have the luxury of being able to take time to check whatever link I may come across but others may not as they are on a tighter shift then I am.
I do not have to read a complete board or keep up with a active board after a show. At times it can overwhelm a Moderator and delete is the best way to go in order to keep up with the flow of the rest of the posts.

I am not saying we (moderators) never make mistakes and that some do not take the easy way out at times.
But just because one board may not be busy is not to say another may be overwhelmed.
Plus we are not here 24/7. We work in blocks of time and in that time everything must be covered.
If you have a problem with anything being edited or removed you can always PM me and I will get back to you within 24 hours Monday through Friday and investigate for you.
Always give me the link in the PM and a explanation as to why you think it was un-fairly edited or deleted.

If telling other posters where one lives is against the board rules then SN like Irishbuddy who is from Ireland, FreddyEngland who is from you guessed it England then all geographical locations in ones SN would be banned for our "protection".
Threads asking people where they are from would be deleted.
I stand by my original statement that almost all off site links are deleted without any explanation and this has been the on going policy for some time.
Why delete links to other sites like the Lifetime or Sci-fi channel web site which has happened when the poster wanted nothing more then to show proof of an article about a show on another network?
Why delete links to information sites like E!, T.V. Guide or The Insider Programmer?
Most of us have given up putting up links and cut and paste the articles that we think that other posters would be interested in reading because of the deleted links.

Seriously though it is easier to check a link then it is to delete it.
Checking a link only take but a click. Editing or deleting a link/post takes a few more steps.
Nothing is more frustrating then taking the time to back up a post with a link or showing someone a interesting article via a link and having it removed.
It is not only upsetting to the original poster but to the reader as well. It ,to me, is akin to reading a newspaper only to have half the article clipped out for the coupon on the back by another person.
Hopefully we can work this problem out and I will mention it to the higher management team so a reminder can be sent out on the matter.

I think the rankings was under the FAQ section but not sure! I'm still not sure. I thought you were talking about top posters but then again you might have been referring to what each poster was called for a certain number of posts.

I think I've found it.
Just a note to myself for next time. I stopped with post #280 and have not posted information about people having video problems, which would probably not be relevant here. I'm still in the email "Goddess of Ice part 3" but now have to click on "View entire message" because if I scroll down to where I finished up, I get "message clipped".
I have added numerous conversations and posts to posts that were already here. So look for my posts which have today's date as the last date edited, on pages 4, 5, 7 and 8. You won't be able to tell what was added, but the edit time will mean I added something today. There's some really good stuff.

AVP, I don't know up-to-date these rankings are. I took them from the newbie thread as it was copied just before The CW Lounge went poof.
Whoops, this is from the WB site. Let me look again for the CW rankings.
No, I don't believe we had those on the Lounge. Because no one is anything other than "Lounge member".

You must be able to drink your body weight without passing out.
You must be able to read the fan fiction without going insane or ripping your hair out.
You must be hawt, and I mean drop dead gorgeous with a body that won’t quite so that you can fit into the official Mod outfit.
You must be willing to work at all hours get paid in peanuts or Mod snacks.
