A new series coming to the CW.
Reign chronicles the rise to power of Mary Queen of Scots when she arrives in France as a 15-year-old, betrothed to Prince Francis, and with her three best friends as ladies-in-waiting. It details the secret history of survival at French Court amidst fierce foes, dark forces, and a world of sexual intrigue.

I wasn't planning on tuning into this, but after watching this trailer i think i might:

The CW ordered 3 more scripts for the show. Good news too cuz it hasn't even premiered yet.

All I can say is it's good enough that I'll keep watching. Mary and most of the other girls are pretty. The music is mostly annoying, which is a shame for a show set in the 16th century.

I'm hoping they're at least trying for historical accuracy. I hate to think they're making everything up, though some things they have to do just because it's The CW.

I read that due to the death of Cory Monteith, "Glee' won't be back for a while. This is good news if it means I can watch "Reign". It's bad news because I like "Glee".

I agree with what's in red. I really liked it but i still feel that it could be better. If that makes any sense. My mom on the other hand, loved it. She insisted that we re-watch the premiere before we watched the second episode.
I gotta admit that the guys are good looking and i like every character on the show. Even Francis's mom. I was surprised that since it's taking place in France that there isn't more spoken French or other references but that's a good thing. I failed French when i took it in school. Plus, it's the CW so they wouldn't add that in if they could avoid it.

Subtitles are too much work. I watched "Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon".

And you know teenage girls aren't going to put up with them.

There are good-looking guys? I hadn't noticed.

I didn't think the one girl looked all that good but she was naked later which was a plus. Even if broadcast TV won't let use see anything.

I did like the young kids. Especially the girl who is the boy's intended.

For reasons detailed on Kimba's Smallville thread I'm lucky I saw the show at all.

I would have had to watch with an antenna because I wasn't sure I could disconnect my cabe from the TiVo and reconnect it. My last time watching The CW, it wasn't so bad, but you never know. In the current era of antenna TV, I'd rather not do ...

And the man from Portugal wants to marry Mary.

I liked seeing the young child again.

And it was funny when Mary was in the tree and then fell.

Yup. Pretty much. But i can see that changing ever so quickly.

You did leave out that France did try to help out Mary with a price. I wonder who the snitch is that alerted the English army?

Call me strange, but I enjoy reading your (Kimba and Kyle) recaps of the episode although I do not watch it. I do watch the promos though so I have seen the good looking men.

I'm still not enjoying it, but I can watch it.

Now we know the future king of Portugal was not the nice guy he appeared. I still don't think they should have killed him.

I don't know who the pretty girl is who is seducing King Henry. One of the many times my signal went out for anywhere from one to five seconds, that question may have been answered.

You see, I have to watch this with an antenna. Both TVs connected to cable are taping everything they can until my new TiVo arrives. Hopefully that one can do two shows at once.

There seem to be a lot of people almost getting beheaded on network TV.

I believe the future Prince's name was Tomas. Or something odd like that. No wonder we couldn't remember his name. I think in a way, killing him off was the only way to ensure Mary's safety and

All they really showed about the girl was that she had long blonde curly hair and then about her saying she wanted to be Francis's mistress. It's the same girl i believe that we saw in the premiere who is one of the ladies-in-waiting. At least when i watched the first time that's who i thought it was.

Fyi, Tomas wasn't beheaded, he was stabbed.

For the first time in more than four years, I got through an entire episode of a CW series without interference.

This was happening shortly after February 17, 2009, but it wasn't long before I was resorting to watching the TV where Lex Luthor and Clark Kent were green and Lana was pink (kidding). And once June 12 got here, I had to limit my CW viewing to cable.

So the mistress is named Kenna. She's not blonde.

I don't like all this talk about sacrifice or seeing it happen.

I saw two Olivias on TV last night.

Yes, but he didn't.

Francis's former flame is named Olivia, not Kenna. And she is a blonde. I wouldn't call her his mistress. At least not yet. I don't see her sticking around long anyway, she'll probably get killed off.

Kenna is definitely a mistress. She moved into King Henry's room and complained about the HD on the floor. She was so pretty when King Henry returned with his wife.

I almost didn't see this. When I turned on the TV it said "No Signal". We were entitled to two free converter boxes as part of the DTV conversion, and no one needed to know I got cable afterward. If I had it already I wouldn't have been eligible.

So I had another. The signal was good but there was frequent interference. It just made things look weird and didn't affect the sound. Then it got really bad. I came up with an idea. That converter box used to have "No Signal" after not being used for a while but I somehow discovered I could turn it off and turn it on again. That worked, and on that TV there was no interference for the rest of the episode. Imagine that!

The queen sure is mean. She was actually threatening to burn down those servants' houses? I thought servants lived in the castle anyway.

That was a pretty good epi. In fact, i liked that one more than the mid-season finale.
