Most exciting pilot of the season! I watched this because I think Spader is an outstanding actor. This turned out to be an outstanding and thrilling adventure...full of surprises. Reddington is a suave and manipulative character so it is impossible to tell what his real agenda is. Looking forward to the next episode.

I really enjoyed this show as well!
Just when you think you MAY have some idea of where it is going and why...
...something else happens to cause you to throw that idea out the window.
Reddington seems to have...
...almost a "Dad" like interest in Elizabeth Keen....
...first career-wise...
...and then exposing the secrets of her dangerous husband.

I am glad you are also watching this show.
The husband seemed so innocent at first. He was so enthusiastic about adopting a baby that he seemed an unlikely candidate to be leading a double life.
Just had a thought - do you think that maybe Reddington told Tom Keen to form the relationship with Elizabeth as part of his long-range plan?
Very exciting.

The more I think about this show, I realize it had so many wonderful elements to it.
Best intro- the first scene when Red handed his I.D. to the guard ...walked to the government medallion ...removed his coat ...people are gaping at him ...removed his hat ...people are murmuring and whispering to each other ...Red slowly lowers himself to his knees ...we see his picture on the "most wanted" poster ...skyview of countless weapons being aimed at him
I love it! *applause*

Yes! I really enjoyed this show Jeff!
Quite a bit...actually.
The story is exciting and the acting is very impressive!
I got involved with the characters right away.
Like ASTOUNDING ANGEL said...the best introduction of a character was the introduction of "Red".
Very unique.
And well acted.

I enjoyed the episode.
The way the FBI kept Red confined reminded me of the way The Avengers kept Loki confined or the way either Professor X or Magneto was confined. It shows they have little confidence in their ability to prevent him from escaping. I smiled when Red referred to the ship as a boat.
They fooled me on who the villain was. I like that because most of the time I can guess before it is revealed.
There is so much to think about.
Red said Liz's options regarding Tom were to confront him or turn him in. Then, there was a third option. She buried the passports. Was that the third option?
Is Red free? He seemed to be having a good time in the pub.
Did you notice Tom referred to Liz as "Lizzy" the same way Red does?

I enjoyed the episode. Me too! Me too! Me too!The way the FBI kept Red confined reminded me of the way The Avengers kept Loki confined or the way either Professor X or Magneto was confined. It shows they have little confidence in their ability to prevent him from escaping. I do believe you are right!I smiled when Red referred to the ship as a boat. Yes. I wasn't sure if he did not know...or was being slightly demeaning?
Did you catch the statement Red made in the restaurant in Montreal? When she asked what her cover was in meeting his connection? "We'll just say you're my daughter then." They fooled me on who the villain was. I like that because most of the time I can guess before it is revealed. I suspected.
Not from any cleverness on my part...but because a couple of years ago... THE MENTALIST dealt with some people who were fighting human trafficing...and one of them was one of the human trafficers...and was eliminating the competition with his efforts to shut human trafficing down.
Just like this lady was. There is so much to think about. Always with this show.Red said Liz's options regarding Tom were to confront him or turn him in. Then, there was a third option. She buried the passports. Was that the third option? I do believe so. As she did not turn him in OR confront him.
Wimp.Is Red free? He seemed to be having a good time in the pub. He has a state of the art tracking device in his neck. Which he requested and they showed it being inserted. NO need for that if they keep him locked up.
So I am thinking he is free to move about where he wants as he is on a short leash. Did you notice Tom referred to Liz as "Lizzy" the same way Red does? Yep.
I also noticed that Lizzie never responded when Red asked her: "What if I told you that everything you have come to believe about yourself wasn't true?"

Did you catch the statement Red made in the restaurant in Montreal? When she asked what her cover was in meeting his connection? "We'll just say you're my daughter then." I heard it but missed the significance. Good observation. They fooled me on who the villain was. I like that because most of the time I can guess before it is revealed. I suspected.

Just like this lady was. Makes sense. I did suspect that the black bodyguard was one of her victims. There is so much to think about. Always with this show.Red said Liz's options regarding Tom were to confront him or turn him in. Then, there was a third option. She buried the passports. Was that the third option? I do believe so. So I am thinking he is free to move about where he wants as he is on a short leash. Good. He will make it even more interesting. I can imagine them panicking every time there is a blip from the chip. *laughing*Did you notice Tom referred to Liz as "Lizzy" the same way Red does? Yep.
I also noticed that Lizzie never responded when Red asked her: "What if I told you that everything you have come to believe about yourself wasn't true?"I think Liz is worried about what will be revealed. She has asked Red a couple of times why he is so interested in her.

Jeff, that is good. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
The beginning of the episode was stomach-churning brutal.
Reddington and Liz were impressive in a hostile environment. I was excited with much anticipation to see how they were going to pull off the sham and get out alive. I hardly blinked because I did not want to miss anything. It was well played and I had faith in Reddington to accomplish his goal.
Red had some very telling lines that convince me he is related to Liz. He was so sincere when he said to her “I believe I will always do whatever I feel I have to do to keep you alive.” And when Liz said she has a life, Red responded “I have you.” Ooh…I can’t wait for the great reveal.
I am not sure who authorized the bugs in Liz’s home or who the wasteful apple-chomping dude is. I enjoyed the smooth way the men stayed out of sight when the lady returned for her bag.
Although it is clear the gun that Liz found was involved in a high-profile homicide, it is not clear if the gun belonged to Tom.
Brain fart: It is not believable that a trained agent would interfere with a brutal spy who is beating one of his employees. Seemed like a sure way to get both Red and herself killed. Other than that, I think it was an excellent thrill ride.

I think Liz has been infected finding out that she never knew her husband is taking a tool on her and has started losing her gut feeling's for the FBI.
