Okay. Then I'm confused about what connection you had never made. It's possible to know the lawyer on "Black-ish" was the President's father, and even that teenage Olivia was the President's daughter, but it's not likely if you never saw the show.
Earlier this week I extended the time on a show and got a warning "Scandal" wouldn't record. I didn't take that seriously as I was sure I would delete enough shows to keep that from happening. But it wasn't on there last night. I haven't checked the TiVo that records from an antenna, but I did discover I had recorded an episode there and never deleted it, even though I had seen it on the other TiVo. if it's there, I'll watch it Sunday. If it's not, I guess I have to watch online and I hate doing that.

What a relief. This was taped with the antenna. And no real problems.
I knew that when Eli had hair we were seeing flashbacks. I can't believe how he treated Jake, and then ended up acting like a father to him, since his own father had abused him (and Eli didn't?).
I like Olivia's hair better when she takes care of it. At least we know she's faking being depressed.
In order to read the newspaper last night, I had to let the episode wait. I can't remember which one, but one episode has them trying to take down Hollis. And we all know who he's supposed to represent.
This week's taped both places, but I'm not going to make it a priority on the new machine. Not if I can watch it on the old one. But I need to give the American Music Awards priority so I can have room for the Billboard Music Awards in a few weeks. I don't mind taking a risk with that, and I'll just fast-forward through most of it anyway. I make exceptions for the Grammys and the American Music Awards.

Wow. The Abby and Olivia cat fight led to a standoff on the tarmac that the whole country learned about. And then Hollis won Florida. Serves them right. I'm glad Susan did what she did. Republicans don't tend to care about pollution but she stood up for what was right.
Mellie handled herself well with Fitz. She knows when to smile even when she gets upset.
Meanwhile on the Democratic side, Cyrus got what he deserved. Or did he? I'm confused.

Quinn and Huck can do the dirty work, but the new guy can't be trusted to handle it. So Mellie wrote a book, but it was an easy book to write. Therefore it won't be successful She needs to write a hard book. I'm surprised the director of the NSA would be announced. If I remember correctly, there was a time the existence of the NSA was unknown to the average person. And having Jake in charge can't be good. Poor Abby. I knew a lot of that stuff was outside of her normal duties. And Cyrus can only laugh. She does have the most beautiful hair. And I was glad she finally slept in something that looked halfway sexy. The best part was when she showed up at the White House at 2 in the morning. Olivia said she was in her pajamas, but I suspected she wasn't, and I was glad she wasn't. When I saw your comment about Olivia and Abby having a cat fight, I was intrigued. I was tempted to watch that episode but decided to view the previous episodes first. I am glad this episode did not start off with bickering between Olivia and Fitz, but I am sure they will eventually have a fight. The title of the episode "It's Hard Out Here For A General" made me laugh because it is obviously taken from the first movie I saw Tarij Henson and Clarence Howard star in. In the movie, they produced a song titled "It's Hard Out Here For A Pimp". Papa Pope has done horrible things to everyone, but he is alive and well and still pulling the strings of his puppets. He is truly the puppet master. It seemed strange to see him and Olivia having a casual dinner with no fireworks. Jake still trusted him enough to orchestrate a plan to become head of the NSA. I was trying to remember why Huck was shutting Marcus out. Then Huck said Marcus is normal and not like the rest of the team; therefore, they need to protect him by not letting him become friends with them. At first, I did not really like Sally, but now I enjoy listening to her rhetoric when she delivers "The Liberty Report".

Wow. Mellie and Olivia had a nice talk. But things are getting complicated. Meanwhile, Ellen's better half is a good actress. Either that or she goes both ways. Cyrus is lying for some reason. Fitz is behaving strangely, but not a big deal after what he's done. The Candidate was a good episode. When Olivia was pushing Mellie to write about why she stayed with Fitz, I was glad Mellie told Olivia off. I was glad because she really needed to vent her true feelings. After that, they were able to work together as a team. Cyrus is always scheming so I thought he was up to something bad when he lied to Fitz and Abbie. He is playing the long game and lining up prospects for his position when Fitz leaves office. I do not trust Lillian Forrester, the reporter who is supposed to write an article on Fitz. Fitz is vulnerable and she is taking advantage of that. Abby's job just became twice as difficult, but Abby is strong enough to handle it.

I have watched all of the episodes following the break and they were exciting. Although Olivia touted her team as gladiators who wear white hats, I never viewed them that way because they help murderers and whoever else pays them. However, I never thought Olivia would kill someone in cold blood and in a vicious way. The VP deserved what happened to him, but the brutality did not bother Olivia. Wow! I could tell from the beginning that Abby could be as tough as Olivia and she has certainly proven she is up to the challenge. I do not think you have seen the May 5 episode so … There is a line Abby could not make herself cross because she thought it would hurt Olivia. She did not reveal the information she had that proved Olivia aborted Fitz’ baby. I have always been a fan of Jake and I enjoyed seeing his backstory. Pope’s scheming to make Jake Vice President interfered with a lot of people’s lives and will make a lot of them miserable, but Eli does not care about that. Jake’s fiancé Vanessa (Joelle Carter) played an awesome role as Ava Crowder on “Justified”. I hope she gets a chance to demonstrate some of those tough lady characteristics. Jake is now asking for Olivia’s help in extricating him from her father. I hope she can help him. During the April 21 episode, there was a poster of Prince on the wall in Olivia’s childhood bedroom. I agree that Hollis is another Trump. I would have thought Hollis was an unlikely candidate if we had not seen Trump in action.

I saw the May 5 episode over the weekend.
Wow.
It was worse than I thought, but Edison managed to get himself out of that situation and gave a great speech for the cameras. But I couldn't believe how Jake treated him.
The reality is I believe W was a moron and Cheney really ran the country. He was someone I could have confidence in, even if I didn't agree with most of his views.
I never thought they'd get Hollis out of the race.
I agree Abby is to be admired for not using what she had. And Olivia has crossed a line.
But that standoff on the runway was just silly.

I agree Jake was brutal to Edison. I was shocked at Jake's attitude when he told Edison that he was the one who deliberately caused an accident that broke Edison's bones. That is probably when he became addicted to pain killers. So most of his problems were caused by Rowan and Jake. Now Jake needs Edison to help him.
Yep, the runway fiasco was ridiculous and the only good thing that came out of it was Fitz and Mellie talking to each other.
The episodes have made me aware that there are a lot of people behind the scenes who have an impact on what is happening in the country. Scandal is told from Olivia's point-of-view so we see what a campaign manager does. However, I do not think I have ever been aware of the real life campaign managers until there was a scandal and the politician passed the buck and blamed everything on the manager.

I enjoyed the season finale of Scandal even though I could not begin to guess who would end up where or who would die. Although President Grant found information about Olivia on Abby’s desk, he refused to believe it. Later, he was very kind to Olivia and apologized for not always listening to her.
Olivia, Rowan and Cyrus were manipulating people and events until the final moments.
I think B613 was run very well if Jake Ballard could be nominated without the media finding dirt on him. I have no idea what his body count is, but it has to be at least a hundred. Cyrus and Olivia know so much dirt about each other they will be at an impasse.
I wonder if Cyrus really has changed and believe in the “good” candidate or if he just wants power in the White House. Also, Rowan still holds power over both Olivia and Jake. They might fool themselves into thinking they are free of him, but he might get the last laugh after all. Must not forget Jake is still married to an heiress and Rowan wants to control the money. It’s a shame what he had to do to his father-in-law.

I didn't dream the first episode would be so exciting. The president-elect gets shot! And we don't know what will happen. The Electoral College is given the job of making sure the person who gets the job is qualified, though that didn't happen in the real world in 2016. This series will give "Designated Survivor" some competition. Mellie wanted to contest the results but Olivia wouldn't let her. Fitz didn't want to endorse her because she lost, but if she lost only because of one county, that's not really losing. And Abby wouldn't let any word about the death of Francisco Vargas. His poor wife couldn't even tell her children. And she still had blood on her clothes. So did Cyrus. And Cyrus really appeared to be grieving. So maybe this wasn't part of his grand plan. Or was it? Olivia may have found out the turh. And the one person who knows got blown up. Luckily, Olivia's people found a missing message to the tip line.

Wow. I mean wow.
Cyrus is going to jail. He may not have actually done it, but the man who looks like Dr. Quinn's barber believed that what Cyrus told him to do included more violence than Cyrus would have allowed, and once that man is told what to do, he can't be controlled. he does whatever he thinks is necessary.
And now Smellie Mellie may actually be President.
I forgot Cyrus was gay, so we would have had a First Gentleman. And we will have one anyway. This runway model is making a good father, though. He seems to have more brains than I thought. And as for their daughter, I couldn't believe she was old enough to be in school. I don't think they've had her all that long and I don't know how old she was when they got her. They might be aging her quickly. As for the racist comment she couldn't be a scientist, just look at "Hidden Figures".

It was so depressing seeing what Cyrus had to put up with. And yet he has the skill to get what he wants. It was amazing how it ended.
I should have realized what happened after he was allowed outside was too outrageous and inconsistent with what happened before. And it was moving too fast. But things were starting to seem weird and finally Mellie told him to go.
Watching Mellie dance was fun.
Abby had no right to do what she did and I assumed she really was speaking for the President. I hope she doesn't get in too much trouble.
This just keeps getting more exciting. How is "Designated Survivor" going to compete now?

Jake's wife did not look familiar, which is understandable because I read somewhere they got a different actress to play her. And she did a great job last night. Plus she looks good. I'm not sure just what to think. If you don't want to be the wife of the Vice President, you're going to have a hard time if he gets elected.
And it's not clear just what Jake is trying to accomplish. But at least he didn't really kill that woman. What will that mean for Cyrus?
Surely Eli did not intend to frame his own daughter.

I didn't like this episode. Yes, I guess it's exciting watching Huck get himself out of the situation, and having the other cast members give him guidance. I'd rather see it done the way they do it on "Scorpion" and "MacGyver" where the cast is actually there. I figured the cell phone of the girl who was killed would be the key to the situation.
Olivia gave Abby what she deserved.
The real President interrupted the fictional President. It was clear that episode was nowhere near over, but apparently had been delayed by the first bulletin. I was relieved that they apparently were airing the entire episode. Since I was watching "live", I could continue to do that, only I couldn't. I gave up, since they were unlikely to go back to that show. There are always reruns, either now or in syndication.
