It's starting to look like Olivia won't survive to the end.
I didn't record "Roy's Folks" on Monday. If I had known what was happening I could have turned the TV on. At the very least I could have watched what recorded in the previous 30 minutes. But when I tried to extend the time on "Fresh Off the Boat" it said the 8:00 newscast wouldn't record, so there went another Roy. I remembered to turn it on, but too late. And it wasn't recording the previous 30 minutes. It would have if I had turned it on earlier. "Scandal" was also on the list of what wouldn't record. So I have to watch it tonight on the other TiVo. And hopefully I won't lose anything tonight. I've been getting dangerously close to 100 percent. And I wanted to read newspapers last night. And the Olympics aren't helping as much as I had hoped.
The bully that picked on Josh in "9JKL" when they were in school, who his mother found and decided to be friends with, was Cyrus' husband.

I should know better than to watch trailers. Yes, Quinn did pull a gun on Olivia, but ...
Charlie couldn't resist bringing Quinn back to meet his co-workers. He didn't explain his excitement, but Abby was running things and thought it was time to shut down the company. Their one job was to help a government official who had supposedly let secrets leak when he was having an affair with Jake's wife. He had millions in his bank account from the Russians but didn't know why.
Jake was being considered for Chief of Staff after Mellie demanded Olivia's resignation. David was investigating him and Jake didn't think this was important but anything could become a problem. As it turned out, it was a very big deal. Jake said his wife had been with other men and he didn't mind (Jake also jumps in bed with Olivia, but he didn't mention that part). David said at least he wasn't asking Russian hookers to ... (Very funny in a world where Trump is not the president).
Jake was in the B613 office when everything got shut down. Olivia was shown with the man who did it who turned out to be the cashier from "2 Broke Girls". I never would have expected that.
Olivia said B613 was hers and Mellie couldn't do a thing about it.
Cyrus came up with a plan to keep Mellie from having to resign. All she had to do was claim Jake's wife was wearing a wire and that they were trying to catch the government official. That pretty much prevented Olivia's former company from being able to do anything.
Charlie, watching Eli being very loving and cutesy with the baby, was worried Eli had become too soft. Eli assured him he had not. In a scary way. I forget which week but Olivia came to him for help.
Charlie brought Quinn and the baby to work. Everyone was so happy.
Olivia was all set to have a press conference that would put an end to Mellie's career. Instead, she announced her resignation.
I watched two episodes of "Fresh Off the Boat" on Sunday. Hopefully that puts an end to my problems.

Seems like some will have a happy ending if they can hold on for two more months.

Comments on S7 E12 Allow Me to Reintroduce Myself or How To Get Away With Scandal
This episode was as good as I thought it would be. Ms. Keating approached Ms. Pope for help with a class action suit that she wanted the Supreme Court to address. I wondered if they would get along because they are both strong-willed and seldom take the blame when something goes wrong. Actually, I was surprised that Olivia placed the blame on Annalise when Mellie refused to help. Mellie made it clear to Olivia that she was the reason. I do understand why Mellie would not support anything Olivia is involved in.
I see that Abby takes being a Gladiator seriously and did the right thing even if it meant she helped Olivia.
My heart still breaks for Fitz because he really loved that woman. After all they have gone through, Fitz is the one who convinced Olivia to keep fighting.
I think Olivia and Annalise did a good job of facing the media and fighting to fast track the hearing.

I was glad Abby and Olivia's old team were willing to work for justice. They tend to help the rich who can pay them.
Olivia won't tell the truth if it benefits her not to. Annalise didn't seem to like her too much.
I have more comments about part two in the appropriate place.
I was glad Olivia told the truth about being fired but of course she can't say whey and that's certainly justified.
Shame on Mellie for not helping these people just to hurt Olivia.

Another episode as terrifying as a crisis on "Scorpion". Jake was a suspect, and Mellie is now concerned about whether she should keep him around. She actually called Olivia, who didn't answer at first as she was having a birthday celebration with her mom. We don't know if it was her mom's real birthday because Olivia never knew her mom's real birthday. She knew the birthday of at least one of her mom's aliases. The episode ended with Olivia giving her mother tickets and information that she would need to go to Paris to get her out of her "prison".
Cyrus was insane at the start of the episode. He was so excited about getting to speak at some prestigious dinner, but Mellie sent Jake, and Cyrus was given the job of going to Portugal for some event related to cyberterrorism. Which is exactly what happened to Cyrus. All communication (well, almost) in and out of the plane was cut off, and the plane was being controlled, and it was headed for Washington (a possible attack on the scale of 9-11). News organizations interrupted programming. With some investigation, it was discovered the plane could still receive weather information and although it was comparable to dial-up, it was used to communicate. Cyrus' secretary admitted, after nearly everyone had been required to surrender their phones and other devices, that her laptop had disappeared from her office and mysteriously reappeared. Cyrus, the secretary and the pilot (or whoever that was) decided no one could be trusted and sent the information on the laptop, using the slow connection, to Quinn's organization. Huck and Charlie worked diligently to locate the malware and with only seconds before the plane would have been shot down, regained control of the plane. Given that this is the show's final season, we were not guaranteed a positive outcome.
Prior to the situation being resolved, Cyrus gave an inspirational speech to those on the plane, and it was sent out to the world by one person who I think had been reluctant to give up her phone and somehow still had it.
Those on the plane had seen the other planes and it was believed they were there to shoot down the plane.
Mellie was preparing for anything and she was not happy when Jake seemed to think shooting the plane down was not a last resort, but what should happen. Cyrus, I believe, suspected Jake was after his job and this was one way. But he knew there were easier ways that also wouldn't put other lives (potentially thousands given the plane's destination) at risk.

Not nearly as exciting this week. Should I go ahead and include spoilers? I don't remember how. I forgot one detail. QPA would have deleted the virus except it was accompanied by a message using a weird name that Abby and David had talked about. The hijacking was still a controversy. Abby went to QPA claiming David said something that suggesting Cyrus plotted the hijacking himself. In fact, it was Olivia who suspected. She couldn't tell the team or they wouldn't investigate. They figured out the hacker was quite amateurish. Huck continued to investigate even after Abby confessed and Quinn shut the investigation down. Evidence was found on Charlie's computer that he had the virus before it was sent to them. The episode ended with the FBI taking him away. Just when we thought we could trust Cyrus, he was with a man making it clear he had a major role in getting his plane hijacked. In exchange he got an expensive painting Cyrus was given by his billionaire boy toy. We saw him later and what he was doing was very scary. David has a conflict of interest as a witness, so the man Cyrus was with is the investigator! One main plot was Olivia going to Fitz to find a missing person. She was an Capitol Hill intern who was a #Metoo victim. Another intern who was her roommate did what she was supposed to and kept her job. The missing girl appeared at the start of the episode buying a gun. We later found out what she did with it. She was a great admirer of Olivia which is why Olivia was asked to help. Fitz was happy to help. Mellie was asked to pass legislation that would seriously punish not just those in government but everyone. Fitz asked Olivia if his behavior with her had been inappropriate and Olivia said she had consented. The other intern was asked to come forward with her story. But to get it passed risked a government shutdown. The budget had to be a priority. She might get what she wanted AFTER the budget, as a reward for helping. Mellie spent a lot of the episode in pain, which was funny. In two scenes she was lying on the floor and I don't see how she got up and got dressed if it was that bad. But she did. She was wearing a beautiful blue suit and wincing when she tried to move as she discussed the various legislative problems. The other time she ended up on the floor she was with Jake, and Jake did something that suggested he was interested in her. She put a stop to that and was reluctant to work with him.

I've seen two episodes. Wow.
Charlie was arrested for trying to crash Cyrus' plane. He denied everything even while being tortured. He gave in when they threatened Quinn. He signed a confession which implicates Mellie.
Quinn's office was shut down by investigators. Meanwhile, Quinn and the team tried to do their own investigation. Abby's hacking skills aren't quite like Huck's. She referred to the "virtual thingy".
Mellie met with Olivia in a secret room. She ordered Cyrus killed. Olivia tried but couldn't. And Cyrus knew what he was likely in for and he told Jake he would ruin his career if he didn't take Cyrus' side. The actor playing Jake's wife left the show, but if she had waited a while they wouldn't have had to replace her. Cyrus got a message to meet his special prosecutor in the secret location. it was Olivia.
There was one scene where Mellie was talking to no one but we saw Jake watching from B613. She knew.
Rachel caught Mellie and Marcus in bed. Rachel follows Mellie carrying something to write on.

I have a decision to make. I didn't want to lose any recordings that would be made after Sunday so I didn't select "Keep until I delete". I should have. The episode was gone and several episodes of other shows I didn't even want were there. I don't know what happened because I'm sure I selected Sunday at 9:00.
The fact is I don't want to watch the finale. I have numerous episodes of now-cancelled series that will be the last episode I ever watch once I watch. I could keep the finale around. I could wait because reruns of this show do air. In a few months the finale will be repeated, or at least the episode from last week. I guess they would air the finale too.

I enjoyed watching the finale even though there were some things I did not like, but I do not think we were expected to like the way some things ended. What I liked: Gladiators testifying before the Senate. When Huck was asked about the number of killings he was ordered to do, he hesitated, drank some water, and then said “a lot” as if there were too many to count.
The wedding. Later, I loved the scene where Charlie and Quinn kissed the baby’s cheeks at the same time.
Jake and David’s conversation in the garage. I remember clearly the other time Jake pointed a gun in David’s direction.
Olivia and her father. When she asked him for help and he reminded her that she should be doing things for herself. I loved it when we saw them later having a pleasant meal together.
Jake saying “no” to Cyrus.
Mr. Pope’s outrageous testimony before the Senate was mesmerizing and shocking. He succeeded in helping the Gladiators.
The three portraits were beautiful. I did not like: Cyrus killing David.
Jake taking the fall for everything that B613 did.
Marcus and Mellie – what the heck?!

Yes, I don't believe we were expected to like the ending.
The good news is I got two more "Fresh Off The Boat" episodes crossed off my list. I also saw an extra "Black-ish" last week. And for what it's worth I saw "Splitting Up Together" which wasn't nearly as good as I hoped.
