I need to remember to watch more of the behind the scenes with Penguin.
And I liked seeing Penguin act like a big shot.
I mentioned Sue Sylvester. Fish was so much like her in those scenes where she was being held prisoner--and later. Sue can be a synpathetic character like in the scene with Harvey. But I've never seen Fish as a school principal, so I can't really compare them.
I was so glad to see Bruce return. So he was just out of the country. But I didn't like what Selina did.

When I watched "Glee", Sue started out as a mean person, then she started showing a softer side when they introduced her handicapped sister, and now it sounds as if she is back to being mean again. I stopped watching the show when they focused so much on social issues that I could not truly enjoy the entertainment. Now that she's principal she can be as evil as she wants. It's like North Korea or the Soviet Union.

Sue even hypnotized the new football coach who is kind of an airhead.
Danny DeVito as Penguin in the movies tried to hypnotize someone but I don't know if he succeeded.
Carol Kane (Penguin's mom) was the wife of one of Danny DeVito's employees in the TV series "Taxi" and was nominated for awards for the role. She may have won awards too.
Thenkyouvrymuch.
I haven't had time yet.

I enjoy the villains in Gotham so I do not want Fish, Maroni or Cobblepot to be eliminated. There were two separate storylines and they were both good. Members of a support group for phobias were being murdered in gruesome ways and the murders used the people's greatest fears against them. Harvey liked one of the members of the support group whom he asked to help with the investigation. When she disappeared from the meeting while Harvey was in attendance, he and Jim rushed to save her. That was exciting, but the criminal got away. Young Bruce is still determined to solve the crime and find the person who killed his parents, but he has lost faith in Jim Gordon. I do like the respectful and gentlemanly manner in which Bruce relieved Jim of his oath to find the killer, but it was disheartening. I was hoping Bruce and Jim would develop a closer relationship. I think Selina's rejection led Bruce to decide he does not want help from anyone. Fish knows how to escape in style and she was in an elegant bedroom on the boat. Maroni was shocked when Fish called him and revealed Cobblepot has been Falcone's man all along. Maroni could have killed Cobblepot right away, but he took him to a cabin and played a game with him first. I am sure Maroni was the only one who was enjoying the game. The final resting place Maroni chose for Cobblepot was cruel and Cobblepot became frantic. He was not able to talk his way out with Maroni this time, but he does think fast and he is very clever. The kiss! I like the chemistry between Jim and the doctor and the kiss in view of the whole precinct was more passionate than I anticipated. Good for them.

I found out something interesting in a newspaper article.
I found out that the actor who plays Penguin has bottle caps taped to the inside of his shoes so that's the secret to his penguin-like walk! Pretty cool info!

The scene where Penguin was in the car about to be crushed was priceless. It reminded me of the Batman tv show ... where villains always put the dynamic duo in these crazy death traps. In fact, there was an episode with a car compactor. Very funny stuff.

That was a great scene with Penguin. And he was so calm as he spoke to the man who was crushing him.
I'm still seeing those Ford commercials that go behind the scenes. So I can apparently still do this, at least next week when I can watch video.
There were actually three storylines because Nygma got suspended for investigating in the way a medical examiner would and then got the medical examiner fired, and now Jim's girlfriend may get to be the new medical examiner. I hope so because she's pretty.
It was weird seeing Harvey with a woman and even weirder seeing him admit to fears. But he was convincing so maybe it was real.
The episode title had me exepcting Kelsey Grammer.
Bruce has the money to hire anyone he wants, but it was nice that he relieved Jim of his obligation.

I was surprised several weeks ago by Peter Scolari. He was Tom Hanks' roommate in "Bosom Buddies", where they pretended to be women to get an affordable place to live and to be close to the woman Tom's character wanted to date. Most of his characters have been like Nygma or even Penguin. This man was a big shot and not pathetic at all.
Backstrom's gay roommate is Peter's nerdy son from "Honey I Shrunk the Kids", the TV series based on the movies, where Peter's character built a lot of amazing gadgets but, as the show's title suggests, had problems with them.

I loved the scene where Jim had the kiss, secretly I was hoping it was me.
I feel so bad for poor Bruce, he has gotten hurt by Selina and her confession.
I was so on edge during Penguin's scenes I almost thought he would get killed!

I like Jim’s doctor friend and I think the way she teases him is good for him. She is smart and working with Nygma should help to solve cases much quicker than the former M.E. could.
Cobblepot really wants to be Jim’s friend but working with a criminal seems unsavory to Jim. I felt sorry for Cobblepot when Jim was rude to him and threw the personal invitations in the trash. Clever Cobblepot said to Jim “Walking with a friend in the dark is better than walking alone in the light.”
Bruce’s journey on the hike gave him an opportunity to vent his rage and frustration at the injustice that left him an orphan. He usually holds himself in check and tries to be stoic, but he really let go when he looked at the rocks his father had accumulated. I was concerned that something awful would happen to him after he slid down the slope, but he managed to make it to the top. I really like Alfred and think he is the perfect mentor for Bruce.
That biology teacher did not value people’s lives at all nor do I think he really loved his son. His son told him that he was not fearful and he insisted on giving his son a double dose of the adrenaline concoction which could have killed him. His son’s state of unrelenting terror is worse than death.
The joker will be with us soon.

Bruce should have never ventured out on his own like that. I like how he commented that Alfred wasn't there to help, but Alfred is helping him be a better person by doing as much as he can on his own.
Next week it looks like we finally see Bruce getting involved with the company and that will be good.
With last week's episode title I was expecting Kelsey Grammer. I didn't care for this mystery at all but I liked how Harvey and Jim worked on it.
Penguin was interesting this week. I worry about him but I always like seeing him succeed. It's a mistake for him to try to get involved with Jim.
I like Jim with his gorgeous new M.E. girlfriend. Nygma is weird these days but interesting.
I could have done without Fish.
I forgot to look up Penguin behind the scenes.

I watched the episode and I have the following thoughts:
Was confused at first by Bruce's mini trek by himself but by the return of Alfred after the hike then it became clearer.
Fish's current situation is problematic and I don't see how she is improving it by much.
The scenes with Jonathan and his dad were sad to say the least.
I could have forgone the scenes with Penguin though.
Jim is so sweet with Lee but I worry she'll refuse to listen to him and become like Barbara. He is truly great becoming great with Harvey by his side to help as needed.
No new clips with the Mayor still? Interesting!
New episode with Joker? Nice! I am anxious to see that but I think the reveal in the previews could been more subtle in it.

Gee...I did not mention Fish in my post, but I did not forget about her. I did not read the comics so I have no idea why those people are being held captive. I must admire Fish's confidence and bravado. A sexy lady like her would be prey for every pervert in the place if she did not take a strong stand. As I see it, she had two choices, and she made the right choice.

The episode continued four story arcs – Jim and Lee’s romance, Penguin’s ownership of the club, Fish being a prisoner of the organ harvesting criminals, and Bruce investigating the activities of Wayne Enterprises. I enjoyed 3 of the 4 story arcs. I think Dr. Lee might be an adrenaline junky because she was very excited to travel to crime scenes with Jim. She is a saucy lady and I think she is good for him because she tells him when he is being closed minded and stubborn. Barbara saw them kissing and I wonder if she will make trouble. Cobblepot’s mother’s performance was boring people, but it was unwise to insult the lady. I like the umbrella logo because it reminds me of when he used to carry Fish’s umbrella for her. Cobblepot looked scared witless when Victor Szasz showed up with Butch Galzean. I think Victor is the scariest person I have seen on the show. I liked the way Alfred saluted Bruce and interpreted it as a salute to Bruce going to war with the board of directors. Bruce handled the discussion perfectly in a mature manner. Alfred was wise to remind Bruce their lives could be in danger. Fish is fighting for their lives or maybe just her own life since I do not think she cares about anyone except herself. Also, I think Thomas’ boss does not care about him since I do not expect him to survive being in the pit with the hostages.

Case of the week
A brawl between circus performers occurred while Jim Gordon and Lee Thompkins were there on a date and acting like love-struck teenagers. Jim investigated and learned a promiscuous member of the circus was murdered. He used a unique method to locate her body by releasing her snake which led them to the woman. Further investigation and a tip from a “blind psychic” led to the murder weapon.
While watching the episode, I did not once think about the fact that the joker was going to be introduced. That young man made a shocking transformation from bewildered son to heartless murderer.

The actor playing the young Joker was absolutely brilliant!
He captured the psychosis perfectly and had the perfect laugh.
Disappointed that Jim seems to be moving on so quickly. I guess I'm just old fashioned.

Here are my thoughts:
I really respected Fish a lot in the episode, she really has proven her worth to the people in that slum!
Jim has really changed in how he solves cases but he is an incredible detective and you can see how he works hard to get the culprit(s). The approach with releasing the snake was a good one, it seems like all the men I like have some type of scene with snakes in some way, either a movie or various scenes like Jim's at the circus looking for Lila.
I wasn't fond of Penguin's mother singing but she didn't deserve to be insulted like that. Victor showing up with Butch creeped me out later on, he reminds me of an evil version of Lex Luthor!
The scenes with the future Joker really had me on the edge of my seat. He literally transformed from a wide-eyed boy believing his mother was honest and true then he became cold and heartless driven to kill anyone even his beloved mother. He really was going crazy as Jim accused him of the murder, a really intense scene to watch.
Bruce's scene before the board room was intense, he has become strong and he isn't afraid to tell them he wants answers and the truth.
Barbara certainly got an eyeful when she saw Jim with Lee, I didn't feel the least bit sorry for her, I was glad she saw firsthand that Jim has finally moved on since her departure earlier this season!
5 more episodes til the season finale! I can't wait to see how things turn out.

Somewhere I saved links to two newspaper articles I read in newspapers.
One says Harvey was in the comics. Seriously? There are two characters named Harvey in the comics? I have lots of Harvey comics but this is ridiculous.
Barbara looks good in short skirts and I liked her scene with Kat and Ivy, but I like Lee and I like Jim and Lee together.
I don't think they took Bruce seriously. They acted like he was a kid they have to be nice to because he owns the company.
I didn't like Penguin's mother either but you don't insult people's mothers.
I don't like how they introduced Joker.
I could have done without Fish again this week. On a related note, Sue Sylvester on "Glee" became politically correct this week as she said bullying was wrong (and proceeded to do it to someone fat). No resemblance to Fish this time.

Fish being a prisoner of the organ harvesting criminals, Reminds me too much of what's taking place on "The 100". I liked the way Alfred saluted Bruce and interpreted it as a salute to Bruce going to war with the board of directors. Bruce handled the discussion perfectly in a mature manner. Alfred was wise to remind Bruce their lives could be in danger. That was a good scene. Oh, and I had forgotten about the umbrella. Nice touch.

I made an earlier assumption about Barbara being the future mother of Batgirl. This is not necessarily so. All we know for sure is that Jim will be the father. Lee ( or anyone ) could be the mother. Batgirl could just be named after Barbara. Perhaps something happens to her and Jim names his child in memory of her.
Idk .. my head hurts.
