Anti, while I haven't watched yet, I have recorded it and you did create a board. Can you use your magic to move this there?

Anti, while I haven't watched yet, I have recorded it and you did create a board. Can you use your magic to move this there? I will move our posts/threads to the board. It was five minutes before the CW shows were airing when I realized a board had not been created. I created the board, but I would have missed part of the show if I took time to move anything.

The River's EdgeRiverdale included the popular characters from the comics, but the story is centered around dark events that happened one summer. Jughead narrates the story as he tries to write a book about Jason Blossom. Archie and Betty are best friends. Betty wants to move the relationship to an intimate level, but Archie does not feel that way. He had an affair with Miss Grundy, the music teacher, during the summer. What he felt during their relationship makes him realize he does not feel the same way about Betty.
Miss Grundy and Archie were at the beach on July 4 and heard a gunshot. They did not tell anyone because they should not have been together at 6 AM. Archie feels guilty about not telling anyone, but he promised to not say anything if Miss Grundy gives him private music lessons. There are twenty recurring characters so there is much more happening, but that is the main plot The end credits show a picture of the comics Archie, followed by a picture of K.J. Apa as Archie.

I should have mentioned part of the mystery is: Jason's sister, Cheryl, said Jason fell into the water while trying to retrieve her glove. The coast guard could not find the body. That is the same morning that Archie heard a gunshot. At the end of the episode, we saw Jason's body and there was a bullet wound in his forehead.
It sounds as if Cheryl was lying, but why?

I watched both episodes also. I was surprised at the ending to the 2nd episode. They said Jason died a week after the 4th of July. I thought Cheryl was being dramatic when she held her wrists out for the handcuffs, but I am not sure.

I've only seen the first one. I like it better than I thought I would. The school looks great, although I wonder why they haven't built a new one and made that school a middle school or elementary school. There is a town near where I live that has an even older school that looks amazing. But in other nearby towns the high school has gone through that evolution I mentioned. Actually, one former high school which is the same age is a magnet school now.
I watched cartoons and read comic books as a child. Archie's style of music on this show is quite different from what I remember. The cartoon Archie was corny but closer to what I like. I don't approve of what they did to Miss Grundy or what Archie did with her, but it makes the mystery interesting. Veronica is very different from what I remember. They've made Cheryl more of a Veronica character, and Betty is more vulnerable and depressed. I don't know what that is on Jughead's head but it sure doesn't look like what I'm used to seeing. I like Kevin but don't approve of his being with Moose. I'm not sure what to think of Reggie and I'm not absolutely sure I've seen him.
So bad boy Dylan from "90210" is all grown up and Archie's father. I knew I felt comfortable with him for some reason.
I didn't know of Josie's connection with Archie when I was watching her cartoons as a child. Just Valerie was black back then but now the whole group is. I liked the old group's music better. And I don't like this Josie either.

1.03 Chapter Three: Body DoubleThey did not hold us in suspense long to find out what Cheryl was guilty of. Her involvement in events on July 4th were different than what we were led to believe. Jason made it all the way across the water without getting wet and was determined to run away from home. Also, Cheryl and Jason were next to each other when there was a gunshot. Although Cheryl had already admitted she heard a gunshot on July 4th, Archie felt compelled to admit he was at the water and also heard a gunshot. He did not implicate Ms. Grundy, but someone else did. The jocks of Riverdale frequently humiliated the girls by lying on them for points, which they then tallied in a shame book. When Veronica was targeted by Trev Brown, she fought back. The girls’ plan to get proof succeeded, but Betty went too far with her alternate personality. Trev is in the next episode and he will be causing trouble. Archie’s father is a hardworking man and wants his son to be prepared to make a living. He is not a mean guy. Although Cheryl said she is sorry if her brother hurt Polly, she still seems like the ultimate mean girl. Several mysteries: The reason Jason was running away is a mystery. Why is Veronica’s mom working as a waitress when she has a bag full of money? She could pretend to be working. Who is "Ms. Grundy" and why did she take a dead woman's identity? How could Trev believe Betty would be intimate with him? Reggie talking to Archie about football in the first episode: Veronica reminds me of the witch in “The Secret Circle”, but there is no relationship as far as I can tell.

S1.E4 Chapter Four: The Last Picture Show
Betty learned about Archie’s friendship with Ms. Grundy and searched for information about her past. She learned Ms. Grundy was using an assumed name and had a gun in her car. Betty told Archie and he asked Grundy about it. She gave him a sob story and he believed her.
Betty’s mother found out about the relationship. A group of parents confronted Archie and Grundy and threats were made. As Grundy was getting into her car to leave town, she gave some young guys a very saucy look. I do not think she is as innocent as she claimed.
Jughead was upset that the drive-in was going to be demolished. He tried to have the contract delayed, but neither the mayor nor Archie’s father would intervene. Veronica’s mom used the bag of money to bribe the mayor and purchase the old drive-in theater. I was shocked that Jughead is homeless and was living in the drive-in.

1.05 Chapter Five: Heart of Darkness
Riverdale really holds my attention and this episode revealed events we were not aware of. Jason and Polly’s relationship was more serious than people knew. Jason’s grandmother gave a family ring to Polly and thought Jason and Polly would get married. Hal Cooper was against that friendship as much as the Blossoms were. Hal said the Blossom ancestor killed his great grandfather out of greed. He also said he came home and found Polly trying to hurt herself after an argument with Jason. It is suspicious that Hal has the information that was stripped from the murder wall the sheriff had created.
The Blossom memorial service for Jason was weird. I wondered if rich people usually hand out invitations in black envelopes or did they do that because it was inside the Blossom home. Cheryl attracted incredulous attention when she entered the service wearing the white dress she wore the last time she and Jason were together. I like the song that was playing, but I never understood the meaning of the song. That scene was certainly dramatic. Penelope was furious and she was very angry and harsh to Cheryl.
Val initiated a meeting between a music tutor and Archie. Oscar Castille was critiquing Archie’s work when Archie mentioned Miss Grundy’s name. Castille reacted and told Archie he could not tutor him. I hope we hear more about that. Val seems very interested in Archie.
Veronica’s mother, Hermione, was shocked when she opened a box at the diner and there was a snake inside. She called Fred because she does not trust anyone else in town. Later, Fred said she could have the job at his company that she asked for earlier.
I know I left some things out because there was so much happening.

As details of Jason's death emerge, Archie pleads with Miss Grundy to come forward with what they heard at Sweetwater River; Betty tries to patch up her relationship with Archie; Jughead stumbles upon a secret. I lost this one. I recorded a movie I didn't know I was going to. I did this because it had already been on, at a time when I thought I was recording a different movie. For some reason, I concluded that meant when this movie was supposed to air, I would get a different one. This one has already been repeated, but maybe it will be again. The pilot was on the list of upcoming episodes. I will wait until I have seen this one to see the rest.

I enjoyed the episode. A lot of information was revealed about the families.
I felt that Jughead liked Betty more than he let on and that was confirmed when he kissed her. He seemed to be willing to do anything for her although sometimes it was against his best judgment. Jughead and Betty located her sister and they were shocked by her circumstances.
Veronica is very upset that her mother was kissing Fred. Veronica expected her mother to wait for her father to get out of prison.

Very good episode. Betty is making every effort to help Polly. She wanted to believe the Blossom parents were being truthful when they said Polly was welcome in their home, but Cheryl advised they cannot be trusted. For the time being, Polly will stay with Veronica and Hermione. The Sheriff accused Jughead of having motive to kill Jason, but I do not think he did anything to Jason. The shocking reveal was in the final moment of the episode. When Jughead's father walked past a closet in the trailer, we saw a coat with the name "Jason" embroidered on it.

The Outsiders
Riverdale was really good and it dealt with a lot of issues. I must say I was surprised by the choice Polly made at the end of the episode.
Mr. Blossom offered Mr. Andrews’ construction crew a deal they could not afford to turn down. They left and Archie’s father had no one to work the job. After Archie and his friends pitched in to break ground, the site, and one of the boys, was attacked. It was natural to assume the Blossoms were involved. Then they wondered if the local gang was involved. Following that lead led to the friends learning Jughead’s father is a member of the Serpents crew.
In addition to that drama, there was discord at Polly’s baby shower. Polly revealed things her parents tried to do and blames them for Jason’s death.
Another thing that was revealed is that Jughead’s father is holding on to Jason’s jacket as “insurance” but I do not know what it is insuring against.

Things are heating up, but I think the mystery is no closer to being solved.
Cheryl’s game of revealing secrets is mean but I enjoyed it. My favorite was Veronica accusing Cheryl of twincest.
I think Jughead is now my favorite character. When he and Betty were in the diner, he was not wearing his hat, but his hair was still in the shape of the hat. Perhaps that was his way of exposing his true self to Betty.
Veronica and Cheryl’s dance-off was entertaining.
Perhaps the Archie comics were not as light as I remember or perhaps I was too young to grasp what was happening.
