3.09 The Climb (12-10-14) Ray tries to make things right with Felicity; Oliver meets with Ra's al Ghul. I forget who is Ra's al Ghul?

It was not pointless because it was so entertaining to watch. The fans enjoyed it. I did not enjoy it, it made it more confusing in my opinion. I think I am the only one on this forum who enjoys Arrow. I am okay with that because my enjoyment of anything is not co-dependent.

The first thing I noticed in "The Climb" is apparently real men do not need gloves while climbing any icy mountain.
He is the leader of The League of Assassins. He is also called "The Demon's Head". Sara's lover, Nyssa, is his daughter.
Well...this episode had me riveted to my seat. When the DNA turned out to belong to Oliver, I knew he was being framed. However, the dangerous method used to frame him was extreme even for Merlyn. I thought Merlyn cared for Thea because she is the last of his family, but now I am not sure. His actions could lead to her death.
I wondered why Maseo was playing a huge part in Oliver's Hong Kong flashbacks and now it makes sense because he is playing a role in the current events.
Oliver was warm and loving during his farewell and perhaps I should have taken that as a warning.
Ray is a good guy and he must have strong feelings for Felicity because he has shared things with her that he would not share with others. I was amused when Felicity murmured something like "not again".
I have to wait until January 21 to see the aftermath of what happened, and I absolutely do not want to see any spoilers about it.

This version of Green Arrow is very different than the one I remember from the comics. Many things must have changed since the old days. I am becoming more interested.
The other archer is Roy Harper? Do they call him Speedy or Arsenal?

Arsenal. I guess because his super strength makes him a deadly weapon. He has become very good with the bow and arrows. I really like him.

Is this show connected to Smallville in any way? Merry Christmas!

Is this show connected to Smallville in any way? Merry Christmas! Only in the sense that the same character appeared on both shows. But he wasn't exactly the same character.

My post about the last episode helped to refresh my memory of what happened to Oliver so now I am ready for tonight's episode.
3.10 Left Behind (1-21-15)
Diggle, Felicity and Roy start to fear the worst after Oliver's disappearance.

I really enjoyed this episode although the only time we see a breathing Oliver is during the flashbacks. China White’s team of villains had part of a bioweapon. Amanda Waller insisted Oliver and Maseo steal it from them so that they cannot create the weapon. Maseo is worried because the villain, China White, has captured his wife. Amanda does not care about that at all. During the daring attempts to obtain parts of the bioweapon, Oliver does a huge favor for Maceo and Maceo said he is forever in Oliver’s debt.
During present time, the action in the episode was carried by Felicity and the rest of the team. The villain named Brick orchestrated a heist to steal evidence from the police department. By taking the evidence, the convicts that Arrow helped to capture and A.D.A. Lance helped to convict would go free.
Diggle and Roy pursued and battled the criminals. Diggle was pretending to be the Arrow but his bow and arrow skills were so bad that one of the crooks commented, “I thought he was supposed to be good.”
After Thea and Merlyn demonstrated some terrific swordplay, Thea told Daddy Dearest that she was worried about Oliver because she had not heard from him in three days. Merlyn offered to help and went to the top of the mountain where Oliver had battled the leader of the assassins. He retrieved the blade that was used to skewer Oliver and took it to the Arrow cave. Merlyn was still alive when he left although everyone in the Arrow cave wants him to perish. The blood on the blade convinced the team that Oliver is dead and they are all filled with grief.
The final scene showed Maceo pulling Arrow’s body to a hut in the mountain, then telling his wife that he wanted her to bring Oliver back to life.

Maseo does not want Oliver to die, but he plans for Thea to die. That shocked me, but somehow he must either know that Thea killed Sara or they are going to kill her because she is related to Malcolm.
Oliver's team and fake Canary did their best, but they need Oliver's leadership skills to defeat Brick. I wonder how the people in the Glades will react to the police withdrawing and leaving them for the criminals. Not everyone in the Glades is a criminal.
We should see Felicity's boss in his hero outfit soon because she is helping him complete the software.

I enjoy seeing Malcolm Merlyn in action so I am glad he wants to work with Team Arrow. I was not so sure about bringing Thea onto the team, but she reacted in a surprisingly mature manner when Oliver revealed his identity. Thea no longer trusts Malcolm and it will be even worse if she finds out he made her kill Sara.
There is dissension in the ranks and I do not like that. Oliver is a gentleman and he handled the disagreements in an honorable manner.
That D J looked so harmless but he was willing to kill Thea. Arsenal came to her rescue even though he had to know what she was doing with that guy. They should be thankful Malcolm also showed up.
Zytle needs to be eliminated along with his drug.
Waller should have been eliminated too.
That was so sad when Laurel told her father about Sara.
Arrow is returning to the island with Thea. I thought Malcolm was going to train Oliver in the assassins’ style of fighting, but now I am not sure that is the plan.
I enjoyed the episode.
