We know Joe is upset and wants to hurt the girl. I am wondering how Junior will handle the loss of Angie. He was very close to Linda and she is no longer around to keep him under control.
In spite of the way Big Jim has treated Junior, it is obvious that he does care about him and wants a relationship with him. Big Jim has control issues and I do not think he will be able to control Junior from now on.

I was disappointed in the first episode of the new season. Is anyone else as tired as I am of the constant back and forth between Big Jim and Junior? He loves him, he hates him, he loves him, he hates him.......ad infinitum. And the scene at the gallows!?! Jeez, "Do it son!" "Do it now" "Do it now, son!" Why the hell didn't Big Jim just reach over a couple of feet and try pulling the handle himself? And the the sheriff managed to climb those steps awfully quietly. What was the nonsense with the dome being magnitized? And it certainly seemed to pull at things at an odd pace. Why did the house get pulled apart but not the restaurant? Lots of metal in a restaurant. Just silly, silly writing. I hope the next episode is better. Maybe Steven King should stay away from writing one hour episodic television. 1200 page novels seems to be more his forte.

If he's going to write as bad an episode as this last one, I'm hoping he doesn't write anymore.

Maybe Steven King should stay away from writing one hour episodic television. 1200 page novels seems to be more his forte. Although I did enjoy the episode, I thought the gallows scene was irritating. Let's see what excuses can be made for Big Jim. ...Big Jim wanted to make Junior his partner in crime. ...Big Jim wanted the hanging to appear to be the "will of the people" rather than a personal vendetta. ...Junior is a law enforcement officer and Big Jim is not. ...Big Jim still wants to exert power over Junior. ...Big Jim's gut made it difficult for him to move over to the lever. ...Big Jim was afraid karma would make him fall through the trap if he crossed over it. The comparison that was made between the magnet effect and the butterflies covering the dome apparently was supposed to clear up the matter. Since I never understood the butterflies, it did not clear anything up for me. Stephen King walks on water without getting his feet wet.

That's interesting. The previews did not show an infestation unless they are talking about an infestation of random people.

I am still enjoying the show. Some of us can love a show and still enjoy poking fun at it.

I do not seek logic in a science fiction story...interesting characters, whether villains or heroes, entertain me.

I enjoyed the episode. Good grief! Big Jim done gone and got religion. Who woulda thunk it? I am not sure why the science teacher dislikes Barbie but maybe she is just attaching herself to Big Jim because he is the town's leader. The fall-out from Angie's death was certainly dramatic. I am surprised that I am feeling a little sorry for Junior. I never really felt a strong connection between Joe and Angie. Are we in for a love triangle between Barbie-Julia-Sam? There certainly is a great mystery surrounding Junior's mother. She drew a picture of the new 17-year-old girl - 20 years ago.

Yep, Big Jim saved Barbie's life and he could have gotten away with letting him die. No one would have known the difference.

I forgot to mention last week that the best thing about the episode was Julia in a tank top, and Julia having her injury treated.
I'm still not quite happy with the show but I'll keep watching. Jim seemed like a preacher in that church. Since they killed the only preacher they had, I guess he's the only one.
If someone had to die, I guess Angie is the best one. Though I don't like how it affects Junior or Joe. They'd better NOT let Norrie, Joe or Julia die.
